Darkly comic and tackling thorny issues #TheDrama is a film to have a debate over. Some career best work from Zendaya and Robert Pattinson and Borgli’s direction wrong foot’s you. Really raises questions about where your morality lays and if you’re swayed by emotion or facts.

They Will Kill You (Film Review) — An Uneven But Fun Grindhouse Film It’s typical, isn’t it? You wait ages for a stylish action thriller about a young woman fighting high-class elites with a Satanic pact to come along, and then two do! Yes, while Ready or Not: Here …

#TheyWillKillYou has a fun retro vibe, with stylish direction but it feels a little overlong, sagging when it should be getting to a thrilling finale. Still the gore is fun and it’s got its tongue firmly in its cheek. Zazie Beetz is fantastic!

#ProjectHailMary is a lovely film. I wasn’t always on board with the flip flopping because really Gosling and a Rock is all I needed. Even so this is a heartfelt, often funny, visually arresting work that makes you think “yeah, I love movies”. 👎

I adored #Hoppers. Pixar’s best film since Inside Out. Beautifully animated, very funny and very touching. Great voice work, and a sense of fun with a strong message at its core. Perfect family viewing. 🥔🥔🥔

I actually kind of dug #TheBride! It took some big swings and had interesting things to say about sexism and folk heroes. The Mary Shelley aspect didn’t work for me and I could have done with more of the old Hollywood element. Excellent dance sequence though!

#GoodLuckHaveFunDontDie was a blast! A nutty adventure with film with some things to say about where we are today. Rockwell is on top form, the score is awesome but it’s Haley Lu Richardson that really steals the show. A blast, I need to see it again!

Very slick but very empty #Crime101 has moments of weird fun - mainly Barry Keoghan, but it feels like a rehash of Michael Mann movies with an oddly un charismatic Hemsworth. Nice score though.

HELL. YES. I loved #SendHelp. Full gnarly Raimi, full of gross out gore, splatstick and a never better Rachel McAdams. Loved every minute of this. I was chuckling away, gagging. I had a blast! McAdams will always be a top tier performer and O’Brien gives great swarm. GO SEE IT.

#ReturnToSilentHill is a throwback to when video games movies were shit. “Visionary” director Christophe Gans swaps a psychological horror for lame cgi, half hearted homage and piss poor acting. Poor Jeremy Irvine looks like he’s been shot on a green screen.

So I loved #28YearsLater #TheBoneTemple a brutal examination of faith, control and fear. It’s surprisingly funny while also maintaining absolute tension throughout. I think people will be shocked by how weird it gets. But I loved it. DaCosta nailed it.

For me #WickedForGood suffers from the same second half slump the stage show does. It’s still thrilling, and emotional, but it’s a much more frantic film, not using its time to dig deeper. The new songs are fine, and For Good is as emotional as you’d want, but it’s simply - good.

I enjoyed #TheRunningMan. It’s a fast paced and timely romp with a thoroughly compelling Glen Powell at its core. I laughed and cheered, especially at Josh Brolin’s hammy bad guy role. Comparing it to the Arnie would be a disservice but it’s a great take on a well worn subject.

Dan Tratchenberg takes some swings with #PredatorBadlands and I respect that. Not all of it works, and it’ll probably divide fans but it’s refreshing for a franchise to try something new and not be content with formula. Great score and creature design.
