I played this as a kid and really loved it. I’ve been looking for it as an adult but couldn’t remember what it was called so this is both a) a great cause and b) a nice trip down memory lane, easy buy!

A while back I decided to spend my time painting the kimonos on these very cool Perry Miniatures samurai. Pretty colourful I think!

They’ve definitely hunted at least one pheasant!

A YouTube end of year thing that ousted me as a rabid fan of Peachy talking about Napoleonic vampire hunting.

Turns out I’ve watched a lot of @peachytips.bsky.social this year. The videos have arrived at a time of my life where I’ve been really getting into narrative gaming and he has some great videos on the topic (Sharpe Silver Bayonet what more could you want), plus really cool hobby stuff in general!

Sculpted some beards on these state troops and painted them in Middenland colours (straying towards Marienburg, might have gone too wild towards the reds and yellows…) #warhammer

A fun exercise in painting all kinds of blacks! (Glossy, Clothy, Leathery!)

I've now painted my Valten, he's ready to ride forth for our Storm of Chaos game (20+ years too late)! Maybe I should do some high elves, really enjoyed the white/blue/gold scheme. #Warhammer
Now I have to paint Archaon! (No conversion this time, I have the model and it's very cool)

Classic moment - "Grimgor izz da best!". All the campaign wrap up is on archive.org which is very handy web.archive.org/web/20070102... I'd forgotten the whole Grimgor situation till I read that again. Gives me an excuse to field my orcs on top of everything else.

Thanks a lot, glad you like it. He’s always had a bit of a reluctant/tragic hero feel (maybe that’s because of how it all ends), and the marshal model just looks so weary so it felt right as a base.

A model of Valten, a character from the 2004 Warhammer Storm of Chaos campaign book. This one is not the official model but a conversion of a few GW plastic kits plus some dodgy hair/beard sculpting by me. This photo shows the model from the "hero" side.

I've been on a bit of a Storm of Chaos kick (early 2000s #Warhammer campaign by @gavthorpe.bsky.social for you younglings), and been wanting a Valten model to battle Archaon. Decided to convert one out of the super cool Cities of Sigmar Cavalier-Marshal. Sculpting is a bit rough but not too bad.

8 Flagellant miniatures for Warhammer games. Mix of plastic models from the current set and some older Mordheim models.

Continuing the Empire theme with some Flagellants. Mix of the newer plastics and some of the first minis I ever bought - models from the #Mordheim Witch Hunter warband set. They've seen a lot throughout the years, hence the newer weapons used to fix breakages. #Warhammer

I have vague memories of converting up a bit of a dodgy model to use as the halfling cook for the game. Maybe glueing a human head on a dwarf body? 14-year old me wasn’t going to be stopped by not having access to a miniature clearly.

Some classic Halfling Archers hit the painting table yesterday, lots of character in these sculpts. Painted in the colours of the Moot of course. #Warhammer

Painted up a small warband for a skirmish game I put together as a fun exercise in trying to write my own rules for a game (lair-of-the-lagomorph.itch.io/masse-darmes if you want to check it out). I see the knights as a bodyguard for the excellent Seer model by @badsquiddogames.bsky.social.

Another entry for #FinishedFriday with yet another base of 3rd Century Romans for use with #Midgard. Figures are yet again a mix of A&A, Victrix, WA and Footsore with some conversions and hand painted shields. Backdrop by John Hodgson

A Review of Midgard Heroic Battles I noticed last post that I was starting to mention aspects of Midgard Heroic Battles that I’d never really explained and felt that a review post for the game might be in order. Clearly if you’ve se…

I've been enjoying #Midgard tremendously so I thought I'd write up a review/summary of my thoughts on the game over at the blog. I mostly use the blog for project photos, but it's nice to stretch the writing muscles from time to time. lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/10/09/a... #spreadthelard

Been thoroughly enjoying reading #SecretPassages 2. The whole concept just cool and a good read. Nice trip down memory lane and beyond (not quite old enough to have experienced all of it!). Heartily recommended picking both #1 and #2, and look forward to what’s coming next @jdhoare.bsky.social

Excellent time playing #Midgard last night with @djchamb.online and other friends. Made good use of the bases I made last week and my Warhammer collection. Skaven and Undead vs Dwarves and Bretonnians, with some Treemen spicing up the action! #spreadthelard #wargaming

Been enjoying #Midgard by @mogsymakes.bsky.social a lot! Enough so that I've made a whole bunch of bases to allow me to field my #Warhammer armies in the game. I went over the process in a blog post, showing off the different sizes I made lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/09/27/m...

Thanks for that, I like the colour. A similar one I’ve tried is Scale 75 Ardennes Green which is pretty close but a tad darker to what you have in the photo.

What colour do you use for your base rims? I’ve been experimenting with non-goblin green green base rims recently, and quite like the colour you have there.
