Homemade pie, the best food on the planet.
Congratulations, Lori! π
A man kneels next to a woman using a wheelchair. The sign they have says, "Clean Energy, Wind + Sun."
A sizeable turnout in Chico, California for the No Kings March today. Lots of support from drivers and nobody yelling or flipping us off (somewhat to my surprise). #defendersofdemocracy
He is missed.
It's mockingbirds around here. (I always have to remind myself not to say "mockingjay". Damn you, Suzanne Collins. π)
Submit early. Eleventh hour technical difficulties = π
Yikes! That is horrible.
A good opportunity to connect with people looking for your manuscript.
I highly recommend pitching with @middlegradehub.bsky.social if you have something ready (or close to ready) to go. Picture books, chapter books, MG, YA. #kidlit
You're reading all kinds of interesting things! I loved this one. Hope you do, too.
Congratulations, Charles! A big day.
Cover of the book MY LIFE AS AN ASTHMANAUT. Shows two young boys together, one in a superhero mask and cape, the other in an astronaut costume.
Had an opportunity to read and review @jlockettauthor1.bsky.social 's new #kidlit book, coming out on 4/14. It's an important read for children coping with asthma, but also for friends and classmates wanting to offer support. #disability

Truer words were never spoken. π₯§π₯§π₯§
My word is FINISH. Like many others, I have (digital) drawers full of ideas, partially formed PB manuscripts, mostly finished ones, and the exceptional ones that are actually finished. Presently, I'm working on nothing but an MG novel until the first draft is finished.
Best wishes! π€
BUSTED by @dangemeinhart.bsky.social is a top contender for best middle grade read of 2025 IMHO. Laugh out loud funny with lots of heart. #kidlit
#Storystorm is gearing up to kick off 2026. I'm in. How about you?

THE LONG WAY TO A SMALL, ANGRY PLANET by Becky Chambers. Such rich, diverse characters who form a found family with lots of heart (and arguments).
This was a favorite with my crowd during college. So quotable. Rob Reiner RIP. β€οΈ
Noodles with chicken and beef flavor with the words chicken and beef in quotation marks.
Should I be concerned about the quotation marks? π€
Paper Dixie plate that says, "Compostable except in California."
Because we don't have microbes here.

Graphic novels rule!
An instructive thread. I had tried (sometimes terribly unsuccessfully) to make pitching comps and selling comps be the same thing.
Good pitch! Sounds like a great read.
