Looking great!

I wonder if that is by design. I am too building something and cannot think what I can do to pad the game even if I wanted to do it, which I donβt.
Looks great, will give it a go :)
One jar. Three boars. Ten seconds of chaos.

I will probably not have this level of bomb spam in the game but it feels very fun and silly to shower mobs with bombs :D
This is the lates addition, decided to do something fun this weekend!

Lots of small fixes and various updates to show.
I know I am biased but man does it fell GOOD to hit and slam enemies. I did some work on the gun too and the splash and partices are really coming along nicely.
More to come soon!

I really donβt know to be honest, I am sure both have pretty extensive pros and cons and perhaps a mix of both could work? But I think the risk here is pissing off the kickstarter backers as the game delivered is not what was promised.
Really good question though.
I would have to be pretty certain that the game is in a good and playable state to consider EA, which would be the hard part to determine I think.
The risk of getting bad reviews because someone feels they should have gotten more I think is too great to ignore.
I would probably say Kickstarter but because I would view this as an opportunity to build a dedicated community that are invested in the success from a starting point.
Early access to me reads as more risk, the game needs to be in a really decent state.
@incendiarysolution.bsky.social hi! I am replying to this post to mention that I have a playable level in a early alpha stage and was curious if you would still be interested to give it a go and tell me what you think?
You can send me a DM and I will share the page with you.
Thanks a lot! π
Whole reason I am not on X, the pricing model just doesn't make sense, as if they are trying to deter people from using the platform π€·ββοΈOh well
Thanks a lot ^^
Busy with a lot of new improvements and new enemy types.
Not enough time to work on the prototype and post often, one has to give sadly but overall happy with how this is coming a long so far!

This movie is excellent, I have seen it a few times. The swamp trial sequence really nailed how brutal the world is
Finally manged to find an hour to capture some highlights in a blog post. Not easy to capture two months of work but hopefully should be enough to give a high level overview in a written format with some examples :)

Experimenting with some early attack cancellation settings.
In here, I am chaining a few attacks between two different weapon types and finish off the enemy with a ranged shot from the blunderbuss.
Hope you like it!

Thank you :) This is all still very placeholder-y, a lot more polish is yet to come!
Not a lot of updates recently but only for a good reason.
Been keeping my head down and made a TON of progress.
Currently have THREE fully functional and distinct enemies. More juice.
Reworked effects and animations.
Fourth enemy is currently in the works.
Will share more soon!
Glad you like it! Dark Souls and Elden Ring great weapon combat has been a huge inspiration for me, this is my favourite thing to do in these games, just load up the heaviest lump of metal and go and just smash enemies
Some of the progress in the past few days. Been trying to get the feel of the combat in a way that feels good and also added some hit splash effects. Everything in here is very early in development, let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas :)

I love that vignette effect, have this planned for my game too at some point. Was there anything challenging when you implemented this?
Love all the visuals β€οΈ
Thank you! This game will have camera shakes for days. And yes, there is a camera shake when that lump of metal lands on the skulls of these wretches
Working on a new enemy for my #roguelike game and added a cool after image effect to emphasize the dodge, I think this is looking pretty promising.
Do you like it so far? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Working on a contact damage mechanic unlocked a different mechanic on it's own.
I present you the dwarf pogo.
Works by just trading a bit of health to get yeeted a bit and then you an remain airborne, could be a fun little mini game.

Trying to keep my head down and work on what matters, or at least what I think matters.
Short example of what the combat looks like with a more fleshed out enemy π

Small combat example showcasing what could happen to stunned enemies. This is very early in development and everything could change but thought I'd share this as I quite like the feel of it already :)

Yeah, felt like a proper game which was really wierd but very nice obviously. The Steam deployment pipelne is also very nice, I expected much more friction but really kudos to them for making the whole process really smooth. I half expected this to be a pain but I am surprised how easy it was
Image of a 2D action roguelike game with a dwarf as a main character running on a Steam Deck handheld gaming device.
Been developing this for the past ~3.5 months give or take but getting this to be playable on a Steam Deck actually felt amazing and it felt like a real game for the first time, even if it has very basic functionality :)

The more I use them, the more I like them! It helps me better rationalise what I am trying to do when it's localised into one particular thing. I see that sometimes I have to duplicate code but so far it has been no problem, I want to see what patterns emerges instead of making the wrong abstraction
