In the map screen in Super Mario Sunshine, a Yellow Yoshi in the Pinna Park brochure is seen saying something nearly unreadable: [screenshot of unreadable text] However, trying to enhance the image suggests, using the evidence provided, that he is congratulating someone named Shinko: Please accept my best wishes for your marriage, Shinko! Shinko Konishi is a map designer who has worked at Nintendo since 2000. In 2001, she worked with programmer Yoshitaka Takeshita on Animal Crossing: Field Design Jun Takamura Shinko Konishi Program Masaro Sakakibara Makoto Sasaki Nobuhiro Sumiyoshi Yoshitaka Takeshita Hiroshi Umemiya In Super Mario Sunshine, Yoshitaka Takeshita was not involved, and her name was still Shinko Konishi: MAP DESIGN Hiromu Takemura Atsushi Miyagi Shinko Konishi Taeko Sugawara However, in Super Mario 64 DS, they work together again (in the same roles), and now Shinko's last name is Takeshita: MAP & LEVEL DESIGN MINI-GAME PROGRAMMING JUN TAKAMURA SHINKO TAKESHITA EIJI MUKAD YUJI SAHATANI YUKARI SUZUKI YOSHITAKA TAKESHITA EIJI NISHIKAWA This all is extremely strong evidence that Shinko was engaged to Yoshitaka during the production of Super Mario Sunshine. As the Yoshi image would have been made by someone on the map design team, they would have worked closely with Shinko and used this opportunity to congratulate her. A closer look at the Sand Ruins track in 'Sonic Riders'. The stands in the Colosseum at the start are filled with tiny pixel people!

I'm just kind of interested in another attempt at a Sonic "minigames" game as well tbh lol
Just more games that let you play as the wider Sonic cast like what we got with CrossWorlds
the Secret Rings party mode was interesting for that reason... that but without the early Wii control weirdness lol

The Dream events were always my favorite, I assume because it was a chance to see more elements and environments from both series properly crossing over
I'd probably be fine with a new crossover that's just more minigames, but more fitting ones for either series in that way lol

I hope there's another crossover between Mario and Sonic someday
the Olympic games were neat, I appreciated the spirit of coming together across company borders, but I do feel like the framing of realistic Olympic events was kind of limiting-- not especially fitting for either series

If they continue with the Open Zone style I hope they're able to populate the world with more NPCs again next time... side missions like Unleashed (or even Rush Adventure and Colors DS) would be cool...

I love the Sonic Adventure NPCs too... seeing their plots progress as you go through each character's story was great
I still have yet to play Sonic 06 so I have no idea what they're like in that game outside of Sonic Man and the Luppyluppy guy though lol

I grew up on 2000s era Sonic stuff, and of the "eras" it's definitely my favorite
