We pay tribute to the courage, resilience and tenacity of the women that we work with.

Studies have repeatedly shown the appalling levels of violence Women are subjected to by sex buyers and this Bill provides the opportunity to hold them to account.

We support our Scottish Sisters that are calling for this legislation.

Today the Prostitution (Offences and Support) (Scotland) Bill will be debated in the Scottish parliament. We ask Scottish MSPs to attend & engage in the debate and ensure they take this opportunity to stand with survivors and hear their calls for protection.

Excerpt from House of Lords Questions on the Government Equalities Office GRA Statement 25.09.20 YouTube video by Labour Women's Declaration

We remember Lord David Triesman with gratitude.

He was an early Labour voice willing to speak plainly about women’s rights and the importance of single-sex provision.

This clip from 2020 is a reminder of his courage and clarity — and how much has changed since.

Trans prisoners to be banned from female jails if Scottish Labour wins election EXCLUSIVE: The Scottish Labour leader said prisons must be 'single-sex spaces" in the wake of the Isla Bryson scandal.

We welcome Anas Sarwar’s commitment to ensure women’s prisons are genuinely single-sex & act quickly if Labour takes office in Scotland. This reflects Supreme Court’s clear law on sex & women’s safety. We urge UK Labour to match this clarity and act nationwide.

Freedom from violence and abuse: a cross-government strategy This strategy sets out the government’s vision and actions for meeting its ambition to halve violence against women and girls in a decade.

🧵 We welcome the long-awaited #VAWG strategy, published today.

It includes some promising initiatives, many of which were signalled ahead of today’s launch, and it is positive to see renewed focus on this national emergency.

Some positive steps for women but more ambition needed, says WBG Read our immediate response to the Budget

However, @womensbudgetgrp.bsky.social also say that ‘unless the Government also removes the benefit cap, some of the poorest households will see little or no gain, as any newly available support would be likely clawed back through the benefit cap’.

Two-child benefit cap to be scrapped from next year The policy, introduced under the Tories, means parents can only claim universal credit for their first two children.

The two-child benefit cap will be scrapped in full from April 2026, described by the @womensbudgetgrp.bsky.social as ‘a landmark step towards tackling child poverty in the UK’ & which will ‘lift over half a million children out of poverty by the end of the decade’.
