The Alberta Premier does this and it makes me insane. e.g. this past weekend when she said disabled kids can “earn their way into inclusion” because that’s what her disgusting little rabid base loves to hear.
“The UCP government’s plan to dismiss an independent electoral boundary commission riding map recommendations and undertake a redo is a “stab in the heart for democracy,” said one commission member.”

I don't know if ABs should laugh or cry at this "satire"... it's so close to the truth it's almost hard to call it satire!!!
One part it is missing is a bottom row:

Budget cuts made in secret. Now secret side deals to allow some NS Museums to stay open but at the expense of others. Its almost as if theyre making it up as they go along. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Yeah nuts to the Rolex stores, they tried to sucker my dad out of the watch his grandmother gave him in the 50s. Try www.abcwatchwerks.com/index.php Or feldmarwatch.com/services-rep... to start with
There are definitely good watch shops that will care for older Rolexes/Patek/etc. The manufacturers want the vintage ones back to re-sell to the collector market, they no longer care about the 80 yr old customers who have been wearing it for 60 yrs. Give me an area & I’ll find a shop if needed
think you’d want to handle it (which may well change if/when it happens), what care options are nearby (if daily/regular visits are important to the other parent), how long the waitlists are… and if you want/can use the HISA program to make renovations for aging in place, incl possibly live in care?
One I forgot - if this is a disease process that’s already smashed through the family in an aunt/uncle/grandparent, so there’s potentially some knowledge about what progression will look like… have frank conversations about what sundowning might look like, if violence is a possibility, how you all
NEW: Small business owners at Minnesota’s largest Latine shopping center are calling for government support in the wake of Trump’s ICE surge. The Plaza México shopping mall and food court on Lake Street is home to more than 80 businesses that are seeking funds, and many face the threat of eviction.

If there’s a dementia support group in your area, try to attend. There’s usually specialist speakers who can give people pointers you’d never think of, overviews of what to expect over time, and the staff will know all your local resources. If your parent wanders, get an AirTag bracelet or similar
them, they’ll only remember feeling shamed. If they grew up with a different first language, have music/tv shows/books available. Many patients lose their second/third/etc languages as the disease progresses, but function well in their first. Photo albums or digital photo frames of them on display.
Respite care for you, day programs for dementia pts (if their level of care allows for it). If you did drama/improv in school, living with a dementia patient is always a game of “yes, and”. “X person isn’t here right now, but tell me about them/show them to me in the photo albums”. Don’t correct

A photo of a road from the perspective of a person on a bike riding down the road. There are cars parked on both sides, and a brilliant blue sky above. And the street is lined with cherry trees in full blume with big puffy pink flowers.
