Totally new experiences have more leeway, so you have to stay close to your customers and take their lead. Make sure the feature value outweighs the lack of perceived speed. You can gauge this both at the generative research phase and at the in-production usability phase. #genai #ai #ux
Something I’ve noticed about working with GenAI. If the feature is replacing something similar on the market it needs to be as fast (or perceived to be as fast). Users don’t care that you’re now harnessing clever AI if it feels too slow. I’ve seen too many teams miss this because they’re excited.

I've created UX & UI Sky as a place to share product design. Let's get inspired! #ux&uisky
Remember the days when brands had wild logos? 🥹
Also when you draw on a Figjam via iPad (say) I love the fact you can copy and paste bits of the drawing. Very handy if you’re working on a flow with lots of repetition across screen elements.
I think there are pros and cons to in-person/async. There’s something really fluid about being crowded around a whiteboard. But then again, that whole thing when you have to photograph it and/or transfer what was designed/written to a digital tool is always a bit 🫠
I love digital productivity tools which are on the cloud so Yu can see them everywhere, but there’s nothing like crossing off something on a physical to-do list ❌

I’ve a hunch that the design jobs that will be the last to go (if at all) are the ones working on a complex enterprise solution. They may not be sexy like consumer apps, but that’s where I’d advise young ux/product designers to focus their energy if they want ensure a long(er) career. #ai #uxdesign
Wise words. Spheres of influence are the way to go if you want to reserve your energy for the things that really will make a difference.
Ideally their manager will advocate on their behalf for that time. Or they will advocate for a senior designer to be doing the forward thinking work.
True in some cases. You need to find time to think about what happens next strategically to have influence and it’s true some ux designers (individual contributors) are too in the weeds of the UI (by necessity) to have that time.
It’s so depressing. I’m worried for all my friends and family.
I’d love to be added too!
