At -50 outside, any skin exposed stings as the moisture in it freezes. There’s certainly a comfortability limit.

I remember when the aurora got the most bright, Pink Floyd’s Great Gig in the Sky came on.

I would sell this experience in total recall if I could 🤣🤣

It’s one of those moments you hope never ends but you’re so cold and tired you end up cursing your corpeal limitations and wish to join the stardust yourself to experience it forever ✨

There’s something to be said for a dead-silent, frigid cold, stare into the dancing cosmos.

Something very humbling and grounding about it. I wish I could bottle the feeling up and deliver to others.

Feels like bearing witness to something awesome. SCIENCE! 🤓

For those that know to bring a sand sled, you hike all the way to the top (~1 hr) and take an epic (~15 mins) sled ride down enjoying your hard work all the while.

Anakin was right. Sand is rough, coarse, and gets everywhere.

The amazing part about this hike is these pictures are all unedited from the night mode on cameras, we can walk without headlamps most of the time, and temps don't break 60 degrees until then sun is up.
