Robots in human shape is just people trying to bring back slaves
You're right, a prosthetic limb would be far more useful
If they wanted a robot to beat a human it would be easy to make it wheeled
There's no proper reason to make robots people shaped

Just realised its bicycle day
Big whoop to all the people who've been on magical journeys
#BicycleDay
And just like that its 7pm and still light
The world is a strange magical place
I'd not be surprised that a lot of the media noise is ai generated and targeted by outside agents now that the greens are threatening the mainstream parties
They destroyed labour, Corbyn and the last left rising with similar processes so there's no reason not to think they'll try it again
'With four jobs in London I couldn't afford rent so I'm going to Manchester
There speaks someone who doesn't know anything about rental prices and properties in Manchester
My mobile provider have reactivated my voicemail and now people are leaving me voicemails
Grave saying In memory of Lieut. General The Hon. Sir William Stewart 2nd son of John Earl of Galloway K.G.C.B and K.T.S. Col. of the 1st Batt. rifle brigade. He was born on the 10th January 1773 and died on the 7th January 1827 at Cumloden. From 1792 to the close of the war in 1814 he was actively engaged in the service of his country during seventeen foreign campaigns in the West Indies Egypt and in various parts of Europe. In Italy he served with the Allied Armies under Suwarrow, At Ferrol he was severely wounded. At Copenhagen; he commanded the troops embarked with Lord Nelson at Teneriffe. The Light Brigade in the Peninsula, and Portugal the 2nd Division of the army under the Duke of Wellington in eight general actions. As representative of the County of Wigtown of three Parliaments, and received in this place the thanks of the House of Commons for distinguished military services rendered to his country. His health being greatly impaired by arduous duty and severe wounds he spent the latter part of his life in retirement, where his benevolence, piety and resignation proved him a sincere Christian. His public life has shown him to be a brave and gallant soldier; he died a sacrifice to his country, beloved and lamented by his friends.
I saw this and immediately thought of you @zwhitehistory.bsky.social
This guys Wikipedia entry doesn't do him any justice based of the limited information they crammed onto his gravestone
Also, who's Suwarrow? Is that meant to be Suvorov? I can't find any mention of British troops in Italy
Interestingly I use Copilot to find/report pathfinder 1st edition rules quickly
Its ok, but struggles to separate out 1st and 2nd edition stuff plus DnD 3/3.5 as they are all very similar so i have to sense check everything to be entirely sure
Same with SQL, DAX, VBA and report builder at work
I can understand that
In the UK we were encouraged to ask our family what they did in the war as school projects & a sense of pride
It's no surprise that Germany was more don't ask don't tell
But that meant you all lost all the ordinary stories from your family
I guess there was a better balance

LLMs are not designed to provide accurate results, they are designed to provide statistically significant results.
And they do not understand context.
If there are very few sources for a piece of information, they become very significant, and canonical
I think you had to be a member to be in certain careers, judges, lawyers, doctors, dentists, teachers etc
I suspect a lot joined just because they needed to for day to day life

I remember stallone bitching that piracy caused the expendables 2 to bomb but it was an even shitter sequal to what was by all accounts a shit film with a shit plot, a shit script and a wooden cast that can't act.
I'm aware of the security and privacy issues but I need a camera for the property for specific reasons.
Oh yes!

Sleeping dog
Sleeping dog
They can be hard work as they're often prey focused and very reactive
They also have only 2 speeds, 40 mph and zzzzz.
They also seem to realy hate collies
But they're great in the house as they're loving and intelligent.
But crap guard dogs as they love people
Lots in rescues sadly
The back of the heads of two dogs staring across a field at some squirrels. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good"
Devo, Whippet lurcher
Ted, the magnificent beast
They're difficult to photograph outside as they are lurchers so they're always twitchy
Path in the local flower park
Path in the local clough
Walking the dogs is my calm place
Quiet, nice views and a podcast.
Obviously the dogs are a nightmare, but only occasionally, generally they're very cute.

Anyone know anything about door cameras?
Want a decent one which has an app but is subscription free.
Don't want anything amazon made
Someone recommend Tapo but the website is vague about how its set up
Any ideas or recommendations?
Also, I always wear a cycle helmet when cycling on the roads
Injury compensation is all well and good but injuries are shit to have and no amount of money helps with the day to day pain at the beginning
Used to deal with motor insurance claims, I'd routinely see a serious collision with 3 whiplash claims and 1 claimant with catastrophic injuries and you'd be like, guess which one wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
Seatbelts save your life from collisions that aren't always your fault
