Fair enough. My error.

Sounds a great course. It would be tempting to add/embellish perhaps with something South American?Perhaps Argentina’s embracing of the game from an offshoot of rowing clubs to supplying players back to Italy and even normalising the junta.
Reading the (rather good) Roger Moorehouse book on the Wolfpacks a few months back and that emphasised the accuracy of the film adaptation - on the stink, if not the full narrative of this boat.
Apparently there is a dvd version. Might take a while to come around second hand though.
Or. Not of. Obviously
(Actually I’ve only seen the Director’s Cut since that BBC repeat about 1999).
Coward! It’s the full TV version of nothing!
Also, by U I mean the certificate, rather than the Mitford reference to social class.
Watch the Magic Faraway Tree at the cinema and rather enjoyed it as a gentle but silly U. Odd though that Matt Baynton didn’t end up in the Matt Baynton role as TVs Matt Baynton.
And I say the Allies, France and Japan only get a mention and the American’s little more. I certainly need a wider history for the context of the intervention let alone the civil war.
Just finished A Nasty Little War. Slightly disappointing, even disjointed as it feels journalistic. Despite the subtitle, little room is given to why the Allies fought so the focus is on the individuals and their anecdotes, not the strategic or tactical #histbookchat
Mackenzie Crook’s magical suburban folk tale, #SmallProphets published by #PenguinBooks and #PuffinBooks down the years. A 🧵

Only just started but certainly feels that insight is offered more than conventional biography.
Something that cheered me this morning was looking again through your T-shirt shop (oddly while standing next to March’s Detectorists on the calendar). It is a glib thing to say but I’m about to appreciate more of your wonderful work with my cash money.

Another day, another stupid Excel chart.
That is beautiful. Thinking how I can visit already.
In a way, so would I. I’m just shy of halfway through and get to feel that strongly about it. It isn’t a period I know well but so far it seems mocking and Anglo-centric although as the atrocities mount that will surely change.
I am Gung Ho to share the origin story of the phrase!
The Cover of A Nasty Little War by Anna Reid. Red text on a white background. Quite plain.
As a professional military strategist, I just wanted to make sure everyone has a full understanding of the American strategy in Iran, thank you for your attention to this matter
Is this a QI- type thing where it is actually a type of Italian pancake?

Sadly such Plum-inspired larks were deeply conspic by their A in the latter half of the book when he prattled on about ducks, before petering out. Worth the 99p though.
Can’t remember who here recommended Adrian Carton de Wiart’s Happy Odyssey but it is a joy. As a narrator he’s unintentionally hilariously Woosterish despite the injuries, self-amputations and accidents that would have crippled someone with a less topping constitution. Or any self awareness.

For a second I was very excited because I genuinely thought that was Paddington.

Trump Ramblespeech remix…
I think Trump has taken over from Frank Spencer in one very important way for the majority of the UK population. In the sense that he is the one impression that anyone will happily attempt, regardless of ability.
