A black cat lies atop a vintage heating vent in a wood floor, covering nearly the entire opening with his chonky body.
I will never be warm again!

NGL, although I despise AI slop, I kind of wish I'd thought to do this.

A timeline cleanse:
I went to change my snow tires to summer tires this afternoon...
And discovered I've got a raccoon nursery in my shed.
Our living room is crammed with my housemates' art supplies and craft stuff, and it doesn't get cleaned as often as it should.
Housemate found a petrified pile of cat sick under a table downstairs when they cleaned the rugs 😐
The reason they haven't been able to retroengineer anything from crashed UFOs, of which there are several, is that they are faerie technology.
Given the sad musical loss we’re marking today ten years on I’m happy to also have the chance to celebrate one of the best to ever do it, then and now.

A single very brainy morel mushroom pushes away a dried oak leaf to rise into the early spring air. All photos by me
Here is a nice mushroom
I'm not well versed enough in trucks to know, sorry.

Illustration of the hedgehog of Mr Pricklepin. He is sat, half curled, holding his shoes with his hands, grassy, mossy background.
Old Mr. Prickepin, Beatrix Potter, c.1902.
Growing out of a thick bed of bright green moss, multiple pink and red mushrooms of different heights pop up. The two mushrooms in the center are the focus. The one on the left is shorter than the other, the top of its cap just reaching the bottom of the other's. Their stipes are a dull, dark pink and are just slightly rough in texture. The red, round caps are smooth and shiny. On the right mushroom, a tiny bug called a springtail is visible climbing up the stipe. 📷 Canon R5 Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM M, f/4, 1/6, ISO 400 Stack of 18 images 11/14/24 Northern Oregon Coast
The tiniest springtail clings to the stipe of a growing Mycena haematopus, the bleeding Mycena. This mushroom, when cut or damaged, exudes a dark red liquid resembling blood

Photo of a longhaired tortie cat lying on a sunny sidewalk with grass lawn on either side. It has a round little dark object in front of it, a toy maybe.
Photo from my collection, writing on the back says “General Nuisance. Summer 1954”.
Pretty sure the badge on the front is a Ford one; they had the oval with the cursive letters on a blue background.
why does the usps, being the largest postal service, not simply eat the other the other delivery services?
Mugger: give me everything!
Me, clutching my basket of morel mushrooms: you’ll have to kill me
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

This Is Just To Say
I have turned off
the AI features
that were in
the update
and which
you were probably
hoping
to monetize
Fuck you
they were stupid
so unnecessary
and so annoying
I'll have to look into that. I need to stop crackling like a glow stick the first few minutes of vinyasa, heh.
I feel you. When it hits coffee imports my housemates will be in mourning.
Good on you! I take fish oil and vitamin D3 for mood stuff, and have been one of those "old people with a zillion pills" since I was, like, 35.
Ugh.
I'm on several prescription meds so there's all this potential for them not mixing well with other things, but I haven't had too many issues so far.
The store brands are what I was looking at, but even Nestle is going for $7 a bag. I thought the northeast had the worst food prices in the US, but I guess it depends. Produce is probably still less expensive there than here.
It's the only OTC pain med that works for me, at this point -- Tylenol and aspirin are useless and ibuprofen is bad for diabetics because it fucks with your pancreas :P
