Backgarden clouds over the North Pennines. Up early to go do some photography, low cloud with the sun coming through at 6am, spotted whilst having my breakfast

3rd time, getting longer each time abdxstill wearing wetsuit but the ice cream head is still problematic and occasional gonad freeze ๐คฃ
I did have an outdoor swim before the walk and I froze my rocks off, it was painful but I got such a buzz from it. Freya swam with me, Willow wouldn't come in because she thinks I'm a knob !
Blue sky and cloud reflections in Brotherswater. We had a very cold dip and swim in here before our walk. Certainly wakes you up
An old stone shed with two labradors standing at the side of it. In the background is Dove Crag and High Hartsop
A couple from today's lovely spring day in the Lake District at Dove Crag and Fairfield. Dogs are totally pooped after much swimming and a steep climb and long walk.

A spring day in Borrowdale walking along the Langstrath river. The sun is out and there are lots of rocky pools with lovely clear water in them. This photo was captured with a filter on slow the water down a little.
A fine early morning walk up the Langstrath in Borrowdale a bit of sunshine, a bit of warmth and lovely clear pools of water.

A Black Labrador swimming in the lake after an energetic run around. A clear evening, last of the light as the sun had gone behind the mountains/
We seem to be having lots of rainy mornings/afternoons and fine clear evenings which means dog walks this week have been mainly late in the day. Taken at #Ullswater I spotted this lesser spotted Labrador called Willow enjoying a swim after a big run around.

Two Herdwick sheep sat on the rocks near St Sunday Crag eating grass watching the walkers pass by in the drizzle
Sometimes out in the hills and mountains of the Lake District You meet some friendly faces in between the heavy showers, rain, wind and the thoughts you have that say "Why am I doing this I'm soaked lol" On the way down from Fairfield

Evil cnuts
Ive not seen any around the hedgerows in Cumbria and have a few friends who make Damson Gin.
A bee feeding on the nectar of the Blackthorn Blossom
The Blackthorn blossom (Prunus Spinosa) is in bloom around the lanes of the #EdenValley in #Cumbria and I even spotted a few bees too enjoying a bit of nectar. The blossom follows with development of dark, purple fruits, known as "sloes" which ripen in the autumn and used in sloe gin

Thanks I try get a shot every year along with some Spanish bluebells that have been planted in the dunes/or maybe washed up years ago.....its like one of my signs of spring well and truly arriving and a glimpse of warmer days to come ๐
Im not really i just dont consume the news and scroll FB like i used to and spend all my time out with the dogs walking. Keeps me sane mostly but I have my moments of despair with it all ๐ x

Thank you, you too. BTW, the sandwich was Crunchy Peanut butter and Jam always a favourite when out walking ๐คฉ
Afternoon Patrick, have a lovely day, sunshine in abundance ๐
Blue sky looking down part of Haweswater. Windy with the effects of the wind showing on the lake. Harter Fell and High Street are clear on the tops.
After yesterday's windy and wet walk above Haweswater I went for a more gentle lower walk today further down the lake to enjoy the sunshine. Still windy but blue skies with clear tops. My sandwich tasted good though sitting in the sun !

Thank you. I take them on all my hillwalking, we love our days out ๐
Views down Haweswater on the way down, even a spot of blue sky
Dogs completely unbothered by high winds and rain find time for a sniff and a light bite of sheep droppings
Coming down from Small water looking down the lake, Willow didn't seem to impressed with her flapping ears
The plan today was to head up to Mardale ill Bell and High Street. However, horrendous winds and long heavy showers forced a turn back at Mardale Ill Bell. As per usual the weather improved a little on the way down and the dogs had fun.
