There were support bands and then their were bands like the Dolly Mixtures. For young mods like us who were so narrow minded at this time about music to take to them speaks volumes about how good they were live. Mind you, we always had one foot in the punk camp.
Saw them loads of times at the Bridge House as a young Mod when they were mostly the support band. We really liked them, I remember buying a single they had out as well. I would drop anything I’m doing to see them play again.

Sounded not ‘should’. It was a long night. Did you catch their name, we had been in the pub too long and needed to get in the long queue to get in so couldn’t hang about.
Yes saw them tonight when I was going to the Babyshambles gig, they should really tight. The drummer was pretty good.
Babyshambles at Brixton tonight. Still can get over seeing Mog and Bob plastered on the Academy stage wall. Great gig. 🛵
Our fanzine was not called Son of Aveley, that’s a ridiculous name. It was There’s only one Reggie Harris. But we were smoking a lot of dodgy gear back then so who knows what we wrote. It’s good to still be remembered, sort of. I’ll pass this on to Greg. He’s bald now, hahaha
I still see Greg “the Peg” Price. I’m really pissed off now that i didn’t go last night cos I would have loved to have seen this fridge and go through the article with a red pen. There was 3 of us, Ken and the other bloke use to go to the fringe, I was too cool to want to go.
Go in there, you’ll love it. 🥪
