Yes, Swiss scientist Fritz Zwicky coined the term “dark matter” which is impressive, but he also coined the term “spherical bastard” to describe people who are bastards no matter which way you look at them, and I think that should be celebrated more.

Yeah - in 2014 our place was half what we paid for it in 2019. In 2021 it went bananas and homes had it at 3x the 2014 price.

We bought in 2019 which was a high point for that time in Pōneke and homes keeps cheerfully reporting that our value is now $80 - 100k less.

I can offer an anecdote: on the eve of Brexit, I was in line at my bank and in front of me was a man pleading with the cashier about how they had to shift money from their acc. in the UK to NZ because "brexit bad!". They were wearing a gaudy Porsche branded leather jacket with the collar turned up.

There is one other thing you can do that will make a real difference: head to Newtown to do your shopping.

Grab a coffee, kebab, your medicines, vegetables and support local ❤️

The response would start with "listen sunshine..." and end with a letter from NZF party headquarters saying that said journalist would no longer be able to ask him questions.

One example. What's your guess at what the consultant says behind the grey square in the upper centre?

Hint: arrow pointing to a tranche of gas which the legend of the graph says is "extra gas available", plus a blue arrow which appears to show this being carried forward to after 2030.

This is where I get shouty. A driver who had passed me dangerously in a "sharrows" lane was stopped at a red light mere seconds after and I tapped on their window and asked WTAF and their response was "what's your concern?". I very clearly announced "my concern is my safety, pal!"

Appreciate your thread and given me a little insight into an altrntv. In my time working for corps I thought it natural to go through a restructure every 18 mnths in the UK and 2-3 years here. My effort / colleagues may or may not survive into the next iteration and it certainly became demoralising.

Funny you should mention CI. I was at F&P from '98 working alongside the factory teams where kaizen was taught on the floor. A few months later, due to increased competition and a poor currency hedge their solution was restructure by making roles redundant and rationalise layers of management.
