My effort / colleagues may or may not survive into the next iteration and it certainly became demoralising.

Funny you should mention CI. I was at F&P from '98 working alongside the factory teams where kaizen was taught on the floor. A few months later, due to increased competition and a poor currency hedge their solution was restructure by making roles redundant and rationalise layers of management.
