With the pre-patch dropping, I had to reset my warlock's talent points in #WoW. I find this really stressful because I never know what the 'optimal' build is, so I just select things that sound cool. And then I get flamed in pugs.

I was playing #lotro last week and one thing I really appreciate is that it is absolutely *not* a race to end game. The gameplay takes time. There are large distances between quests and questgivers and there's so much charm in the world that rushing through it feels wrong.

That's just "it's not you, it's me" with extra steps

#mmorpg on a #SteamDeck is kind of a pain, tbh. #Rift and #lotro technically work, but they are just so clunky. #ElderScrollsOnline was ok, but also kind of a cumbersome. Instead of mobile, maybe some #mmorpg devs can make a good #SteamDeck game.

I like it, but stopped playing and now picking it up again feels overwhelming. There was a lot to do, as I recall.

I've been playing #Rift after hearing about the re-roll event and now I'm mad (again) that it never achieved the success it deserved. It was a good game then and it is still good game.

There's been a reroll event for #Rift and I'm really enjoying playing it again. It has so much more build flexibility than #WorldOfWarcraft, but has been hung out to dry. If you've never considered it, now's as good a time as any to try it.

I have two:
1) The definition of 'p2w'
2) How 'massive' something has to be in order to be considered an MMORPG

I've worked with Windows since the 90s and, honestly, ritual sacrifice has always been an early troubleshooting step. The key is find a sacrifice of equal value to the error being encountered.

I've only played a little of #WhereWindsMeet so far, but I'm very pleasantly surprised. This feels like a really good game for being free to play. I'm not sure on it's MMO elements, but I hope to discover those soon (level 10, I think?).

It does? I somehow never noticed. Which Dalaran, though?

I claim I'm on a diet, but that ain't true, either.

That's a real bummer. New World has fun gameplay and crafting a unique aesthetic.

Really good read. It feels like MMORPGs have become this second job where we have to be productive (ie: running dungeons, leveling) the entire time we're playing instead of just being present.

I've been getting back into #WorldOfWarcraft lately, but it's not filling my cup for some reason. I'm gonna try making #ThroneAndLiberty work. I like the game, but I'll have to find a guild as it sounds like it's not a solo-friendly game.

So I guess #Tarisland is sunsetting. It was clowned on for being a cheap clone of WoW, but I enjoyed the time I played. The mini-games were fun and the bard class was neat. The lore never resonated with me and so it felt hollow, but I don't think it was a bad game.

Hell yes. Rolling around like some kind of god is awesome.

I love being part of a shared, persistent world and the random encounters with other players that result. Whether it's ad-hoc grouping for an event or chatting in cities, I love the community feel.

This would be awesome. Rift is such an under-appreciated game.

Americans want Small Government until *they* are affected and they want to know why Big Government wasn't there to help them.

I should try Palia again. I wanted to like more than I did at launch, but maybe it's time to pick up for a second time.

I think I'm more click-and-build. I've already gone through effort to gather the ingredients; I don't need a minigame.

This is super obvious in WoW when it comes to farming dungeons and carefully pathing to avoid mobs and bosses. I would assume WoW devs want us to fight everything.

I'm still mad about Maplestory 2. It had so much potential.

I've been playing a bit of #CrystalOfAtlan and it's pretty good so far. I'm working on a blog post about it, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
