AG Rayfield leads coalition in securing court order protecting providers and access to care

AG Rayfield leads coalition in securing court order protecting providers and access to care

“The freedom to make personal healthcare decisions – with your family and your doctor – is a fundamental Oregon value. It’s rooted in our belief that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and care. The court saw through the federal government’s attempt to bully hospitals and providers into abandoning their patients, and ruled on the side of those values.”

Today, AG Rayfield led a multistate coalition in securing a federal court order blocking an unlawful attempt by the Trump administration to pressure healthcare providers into ending care for youth with gender dysphoria.
The Court granted the States’ motion for summary judgment, ruling the Administration cannot threaten to cut off hospitals and clinics from Medicare and Medicaid, for providing gender-affirming care.

BREAKING NEWS: Just now, we secured a court order on behalf of our multistate coalition: the judge ruled from the bench that healthcare decisions must stay with families and their providers, not the government. #orpol

BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Supreme Court strikes down Trump’s tariffs, siding with Oregon

“Today, the Supreme Court made it clear that no President gets to levy taxes on Americans disguised as tariffs. At a time when we should all be working together to do everything in our power to keep the cost of living down for working families, the President tried to sidestep Congress to increase prices on groceries, utilities, and basic everyday necessities.”

Yesterday, a federal judge ordered an important check on the excessive use of force we saw at the Portland ICE facility this past weekend.

The right to peacefully protest is fundamental to who we are as a democracy. It is protected under the Constitution. Oregonians should be able to show up, speak out, and do so safely, without fear that they will be met with excessive force.

Today, Martin Luther King Jr.’s words ring as true as they did half a century ago: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Oregon’s Rookie Attorney General Is Making His Living Suing Donald Trump From the moment Attorney General Dan Rayfield took office in January, the Oregon Department of Justice has been engaged in a nearly full-time battle with President Donald Trump’s administration.

The secret’s out: I now make sourdough.

Jokes aside, I really appreciate the WW team and the Oregon Journalism Project recently taking the time to ask questions about my time as AG so far. It’s an honor to serve Oregonians!

Governor Kotek has consistently stood up for Oregonians and the values we share. We’ve worked side by side against harmful federal actions, including opposing troop deployment in Portland. She’s the partner I need to continue this fight, and I am proud to support her re-election.

My dad was a colonel in the Air Force Reserve, and I’ve seen his service, dedication, and leadership throughout my life.

This Veterans Day, I’m grateful for my dad and the lessons he taught me — and for all those who serve our country in uniform.

We just got a huge win for Oregonians - and a check on the president's power: we received a ruling preventing the president from deploying the National Guard on the streets of our cities.

No one - not even the president - is above the law.

Trump is saying other countries will pay for his tariffs, but HIS OWN LAWYERS are telling the Supreme Court the opposite.

According to White House lawyers, American families will front 30-80% of these costs. Ridiculous and reckless. @agdanrayfield.bsky.social
