On this day 1815, Ada Lovelace was born.

In 1843, she wrote what’s widely recognised as the world’s first computer program, decades before computers as we know them existed!

Her insight that machines could follow instructions (and even be creative!) laid foundations for modern computing 💻

A message from Norfolk cetacean recorder Carl Chapman
It's that time of year again!
Tania and I will be on the Cliffs about 100m to the east of the car park at Weybourne to record any cetaceans we see on Sunday 27th July 2025 (this coming Sunday). This is a part of a concerted effort by volunteers at points all around the UK to record the cetaceans around our coast. We'll be there from 9:30am to around 4pm... please do drop in and join us for as long or as short a time as you are able.
Remember to bring some loose change for the car park and something to sit on is always a good idea and of course your binoculars. The more eyes we have on the sea the better.
The location of the watchpoint is at Lat/Long 52.9487, 1.1433 (TG1127243660)
The car park post code is NR25 7AH

We look forward to seeing you.

I’m not interested in reliving old battles.

This is about putting Britain first—not by looking backwards, but by securing our future. It means negotiating a bold, fair trade deal with the EU—one that supports our economy, protects British jobs.

I won’t settle for Britain being a second-tier power.
