The original braids of fiber! Six colorways selected by the dyer with the note that I planned to do a combo spin and like cool tones (greens to purples, and some pinks). All the braids had at least one similar color if not two.
The first division of the braids into smaller sections of roughly equal weight. I weighed each fluffy nest and made mixed bags of roughly 2 oz.
When spinning I would pick a bag, split the nests into smaller sections and then do a second randomized drawing of fiber.
The skeins! These are ready to be washed and the twist set. You can see a lot of the skeins have blues, a pop of green, and some purple. Some do have some muddy colors where muted greens and reds plied but I think it works. The smallest skein is the left overs from each skein connected and plied. It will act as my swatch-ing skein when I go to decide on a pattern. Other much smaller swatches were made before the start of the spin to decide on wheel ratios and wpi for the singles. As such my total weight in skeins is closer to 22 oz.
Finished a large spin! This is Dyer's Choice on Polwarth from Edgewood Garden done as a combination spin.
