Research dissemination alone doesn’t change practice. Clinicians must elevate research and apply it. Partner with researchers to shape meaningful questions, open our clinics to research, and encourage patient participation. Progress requires true partnership. #HAPC26 #palliativecare #hospice

Stop ruining my favorite television series that has saved me from the dumpster fire of 2025.
Also, the Kip and Scott’s story was apparently originally started as a fanfic of Captain America that over time warped into the current version

Study finds wide variation in outpatient pediatric palliative care clinic models, with uncertainty about how these approaches impact long-term sustainability and success.
Once upon a time, radiology rounds were a daily part of the work flow of the inpatient medical team. What has been lost with its demise?

Thank you, Simone, for pointing out that our academic institutions should support, provide, and encourage Advance Practice Providers (APP) opportunities for scholarship. Many hands not only make like work but better work #hapc25
If all patients meet #PalliativeCare early in serious illness, in my experience probably...
1/3 who won't/don't find it helpful
1/3 who are uncertain early, but see/get the benefit later
1/3 who get benefit from the start
So let PC meet everyone and let patients vote with their feet.

Ed Martin- regulatory burden does nothing to address fraud! “It is like the bank is being robbed but the security is outside looking for parked cars over meter time to pass out tickets” #hapc25
Re: new hospice regulations “these regulations do nothing to target fraud. The bank is being robbed and the police are outside giving parking tickets. These auditors find a missing signature and they celebrate back at the office.” #hapc2025
Lots of folks at the @earlycareersig.bsky.social session this morning at #hapc25! Super excited to welcome the early career clinicians, trainees, and students!

Wait, what?? Is this from official channels???
Question’s on cancer pain & SUD Is buprenorphine your go-to for pain and SUD? What do you do about prn opioids? Do you do pill counts and UDTs on everyone? How many days of opioids do you give out? When should PC refer to addiction medicine? What does the palliative care clinic do when cancer is cured, but they still have SUD needs?
We are doing a GeriPal podcast on caring for people with serious illness and substance use this Thursday with some amazing palliative care & addiction medicine providers. What burning questions do you have (some of mine are below)

"Pts want to live as long as possible, but do not want to waste valuable life time with futile treatments. This leaves patients with the central questions whether now is the time to stop interventions...both pts and their health care providers want "a good death," but not a minute too soon." #hapc

@ewidera.bsky.social @pallipsych.bsky.social is she on Bsky to tag??
Congrats to @aahpm.bsky.social on the selection of Dr. Kristi Newport as the next Chief Medical Officer!
She is a top tier choice who will bring a lot to the field in this role. Her co-leadership of the "Oncologist In Your Pocket" lectures is fundamental to my outpatient #PalliativeCare work.
