Text reads:
Commercial and upmarket fiction with a memorable voice and a strong one-line concept
Suspense, thriller and horror novels with an incredible hook - even better if it has something to say about the world we live in
Sweeping family dramas and love stories that feel timeless, often with a mystery at their heart
High-concept romance with undeniable chemistry
General fiction that incorporates elements of other genres
Not for me: fantasy, sci-fi, YA or children’s fiction

When I set out to write a book on the British Empire for kids it was a passion project to start conversations and bypass the culture wars. Still pinching myself it’s been nominated for the Carnegie Medal, Jhalak Prize, Literary Association, School libraries assocn and an Observer pick of the year
