Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.

For inspiration, here's the newly-possible widget I'm using to preview expansions and cursor placement before they happen gist.github.com/olets/05192d...
H/t the community discussion linked in the comments for the idea and for introducing me to zle-line-pre-redraw and zle -M
Released zsh-abbr v6.5.0. Two new fns for extension authors:
abbr-expand-line and abbr-set-line-cursor take text, return data to answer questions like "would spacebar expand an abbreviation?" and "if not, would the cursor move?"

Facebook's Static Hermes is kind of incredible. It can compile JavaScript into C, which is then optimized into native machine code.
I just compiled the Less.js source code into a C library. Then I called it from Rust as a native Parcel plugin (no Node). Wild. 👨🔬

@wesbos.com was it you who wrote about scanning and converting to text grandparent journals? Hoping to do the same and looking into tools / success stories

Custom delimiters write-up: github.com/olets/zsh-ab...
Command position regular abbreviations write-up: github.com/olets/zsh-ab...
Released two zsh-abbr features I'm excited about last week: You can customize the abbreviation delimiters (makes it possible to expand abbreviation inside parens and quotation marks), and you can expand "regular" abbreviations in any command position (opt-in).

It’s 2 am and we’re still marking up massive cuts to Medicaid.
While their constituents are asleep, Republicans are trying to take away health care from 13.7 million people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
They want you to tune out. Don’t ⬇️

@jsr.io nows shows download counts! Their (non-)handling of the community request for this feature is one of the reasons I'm uninterested in JSR, but it's nice to see. And exciting to learn tailwind-fluid-font-size (tailwindcss-fluid-font-size.olets.dev) has been downloaded from JSR ~6000 times
Strong Bad and Homestar Runner stand in a spotlight, singing on Strong Bad's desk. A little gold foil sticker says "25 dot coms" and text below them reads "Back to a Website."
Let's all go back:

You can't ride zebras. Why? Because they're mean, stripey fucks.
You can't ride tigers. Why? Again, mean stripey fucks.
You can't ride bees. Why? You guessed it, mean stripey fucks.
New article: "Picture-in-picture GoPro videos with GPS video overlay"

Reading Dune, and watching the new movies, it felt like a swirl of unrelated storylines and coincidences that I didn't care about. So I read a bunch of synopses, puzzled it out, and wrote a summary for myself… maybe it'll be helpful to someone else hachyderm.io/@olets/11409...
New plugin: 11ty/image-color to get colors from an image. Create theme-specific CSS from an image (or even a URL using our IndieWeb avatar service).

I like how you've put the overscroll bounce on the hero image. Don't think I've seen that done before!
New article: "The command line (mostly Git) abbreviations I rely on"
I use abbreviations (CLI text expansion) to improve my command line experience. Most of these would work well as aliases too.

Many of your links are posted twice, back-to-back. At least one posted three times back-to-back. Is that intentional?

New zsh tool: zsh-job-queue manages cross-terminal synchronous job queues. I use it to orchestrate repeated destructive file changes across sessions. Check it out if you write zsh software.
