A pleasent evening watching the rising tide at Peterstone, Gwent, turned a little manic in the final minutes before the mud was covered, when looking through the Redshank flock I found a Marsh Sandpiper, ooossh, County 1st!!!! Manage to relocate the bird about 45 mins later

Err, we're these pictures supposed to be depicting a Pochard? The images you've displayed are of male Wigeon and Red Crested Pochard, both entirely different species to the Pochard

Rising tide at Peterstone Wentloog late afternoon, Curlew Sand, Garganey, 300+ RP, 175+ Dunlin, 33 Turnstone, 13 Knot, 2 Whimbrel, 280+ Redshank, Snipe, Common Sand, 2 Wigeon, 17 Shoveler, 6 Teal. Highlight tho were 35 Rook feeding out on a seaweed patch on the foreshore. #gwentbirds

Petertsone on the rising tide this PM. Presumably the last of the spring passage waders, 17 Sanderling, 12 RP, 11 Dunlin, 2 Turnstone and a Knot. A single Redshank in the Pill and 5 BHG's (4 ads and a 1st summimm) may have been the 1st returning birds (?). #gwentbirds

Peterstone this morning, 7 Barwit, 400+ mixed small wader flock, mainly Dunlin / RP but several Sanderling and Turnstone, 7 of which departed off high North. Nearby roost on wharf inc 800+ Dunlin, 200+ RP, 2 Whimbrel, at least 4 Sanderling and 10 Turnstone #gwentbirds

Excellent wader numbers at Peterstone, Gwent this evening, 600+ Dunlin, 150+ RP, 30+ Turnstone, 25+ Sanderling and 3 Whimbrel. Quite a few mixed groups of up to 30 birds each were seen departing North as the incoming tide pushed them off the mud #gwentbirds
