Discovering Prince, Ten Years Later - Anil Dash A blog about making culture. Since 1999.

Tomorrow marks 10 years since Prince passed. For the first time, I gathered nearly two decadesq of my writing, podcasts, talks & more into one curated resource, including playlists, rarities, a review of every video he ever made, and collaborations I did with his estate. anildash.com/2026/04/20/p...

In my mind the horror lives
To feel death deep inside
Relentless lust of rotting flesh
To thrash the tomb she lies
Heathen whore of Satan's wrath
I spit at your demise
Virgin child now drained of life
Your soul cannot be free
Not given the chance to rot in Hell

Hunt: Showdown is still showing other extraction shooters how it's done Hunting down an old timer

A metaphor I keep using with extraction shooters is sub sims. And there are times I think, “OK Zacny, stop returning to your comfortable framing.“ But then I read @rossignol.bsky.social on Hunt development and how a powerful passive sonar ability instantly backfired. www.jank.cool/hunt-showdow...

Fostering a new pup - well, she’s five, but they’re all pups to me - who was surrendered by her family, she’s confused and a little sad, so we’re doing our absolute best to make her feel welcome and loved.

Her name is Sugar and she’s as sweet as her name. Just a lovely little dog.

Watched some more Coachella livestreams. Nine Inch Noize was phenomenal, probably hyperbolic but it felt like it immediately became an iconic performance that‘ll be talked about for years.

Model / Actriz were great too, glad to see them pull a crowd and Cole get to do his whole thing.

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.

He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.

The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.

It lead directly to me turning into a total video store / dollar theater guy when I moved somewhere where that was possible to be - there were so many movies I learned about from Cinemania and really needed to see.

For me it was Microsoft Cinemania, which was an excellent use of the medium and incredibly compelling for a budding teenage film lover stuck somewhere culturally limited.
