@glintbeads.bsky.social is Folksy working ok for you? I can't get into my shop or the forum for the second day running. I've messaged support, but I wondered if anyone else is having problems.

Nope, definitely didn't spend two hours in my old wrestling folder on YouTube drowning in nostalgia. Not me. No way. ๐
I miss it. But it's the moment in time I miss not the hobby. It was watching *those* cards with *those* people, reviewing for *those* sites at a time when wrestling felt hopeful.
Heard Alyssa Reid's The Game earlier, and spent 20 minutes trying to remember whose Progress theme it was. ๐
I have intense nostalgia for slow news days.
Eye of a White-throated Toucan. You can see wrinkles in the blue skin around the eye, a brown iris, and trees and sky reflected in the eye.
Here is a close crop showing the details of the toucanโs eye. You can see a reflection of the rainforest there.
photo of a steller's jay on the branches of a bare fig tree. they are in profile facing right. their beak is slightly open as they are whisper singing.
Why yes, this IS still a Steller's stan account!
This pretty was having a lovely morning, burying their peanut in the wildflowers, had a nice drink at the pond, then hung out in the fig tree whisper singing and looking adorable.

Doing a rewatch of the show that gave me the most fun fandom times of my life - The Mighty Boosh.
It's a mental health intervention if I'm honest. I need something deeply familiar and soothing to get my anxiety under control.
Seeing some of the posts about the WWE's women's division hit me with a nostalgia gut punch. I fucking loved writing that column and I really miss it, and reviewing. But I don't miss the time sink it ended up being, or the feeling of needing to shower off the ick after watching WWE.

We finished it last week. I really liked it. I could end up more attached to some of the characters than the Vox Machina ones, but it's one season vs three, so time will tell. I'm going to have to start watching the live play, I think, because I haven't done that yet.
I was definitely on the outskirts, but they always made me feel welcome and included. They got me through some truly awful times, and I watched people get all grown up and settle down through the years it lasted.
I've lost touch with all of them now, which happens, but I think of them often.
I got added to a lovely group chat a couple of weeks ago. It's fun having that interaction again, and they're a really nice bunch of people. It's made me miss the best group chat though. A bunch of wrestling fans, it lasted longer than it had any right to, and I hope everyone in it is doing amazing.
We had that problem tonight. Prime and Netflix both refusing to play anything. I managed to get iPlayer to play Red Dwarf, and just left it on.
That's really disappointing. I hope you get to see it. I'll be trying to find what I missed as well.
We went out yesterday and I missed the men's. Sounds like I missed the most eventful bit of the whole thing.
Hope you feel better soon.
Calamity Jane was my favourite musical as a kid. I am very jealous as tv hog has got curling on.
Found a wire-coiling gadget packed away that I have no recollection of buying. Must have been there at least 10 years. Going to try it out tomorrow and see what it does and how it does it. I'm very excited, and also very glad I have half a reel of practice wire left.
From Access to Attachment: Rethinking Nature Connection Across England.
My latest blog takes a look at how nature connection varies across cities, towns and counties. The patterns that emerge challenge simple urbanโrural explanations: findingnature.org.uk/2026/02/06/n...
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientistโbecause the person felt she did didnโt deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
The Kindness market is in full swing over on Facebook. Loads of great stalls, all for an excellent cause. It's free to join the group as a customer. Come and have a browse.

Periodic reminder.
Went out and saw people, even met new people, and got a couple of errands run at the same time. Very not me kind of day, but it was fun.
Back to working now.
A female pine grosbeak spreads her wings as she drops from her perch in a bare polar. Her golden head feathers shine in the morning light as she aims down and out of the image.
I took this photo this morning, and I'm so in love with it - the timing, the focus, the colour. I can't quite believe it worked so well. The new camera definitely helped.
Also, she's so cute and chubby! #birds ๐ฟ
A rufous-tailed hummingbird sitting on a branch, looking towards the camera. It had a green back and head, gray face, and a rust colored tail. Its bill is bright red with a black tip

Still weird not watching the big WWE events. I always loved rumble night. But I sat myself down and gave myself permission to watch it, and I just can't. I've spent the day looking at the consequences of the regime they vocally support, and I want no part of that.
I didn't mean to take most of January off from posting on this account, but it's been a demanding start to the year. Getting back into it slowly, working up to the next Kindness Market over on FB, starting 1st Feb. I have a lot of stuff to do before then.
