Today's vote in the @europarl.europa.eu on the #ReturnRegulation marks a dark chapter: one that normalises deportations, violations, detention and externalisation at the expenses of fundamental rights and democratic scrutiny and accountability.

Together with 200+ civil society organisations, we have called from the start for the rejection of this proposal.
The current text includes coercive, rights-violating measures that risk increasing discrimination, detention, and harm to migrants and asylum seekers.
As negotiations move to their final stages, the risks for migrants’ rights are growing.

🚨 The LIBE Committee in the @europarl.europa.eu has approved its mandate to negotiate the so-called #DeportationRegulation. The proposal expands detention, introduces offshore “return hubs”, and could allow deportations to countries people have no ties with.

In Lebanon, families forced to flee conflict are arriving in displacement with almost nothing.
Basic essentials like food, cooking kits and hygiene supplies are urgently needed.

📝 As the EU prepares its next long-term budget (2028–2034), this is a critical moment to deliver on gender equality commitments.
We spoke with MEP @linagalvez.eu, Chair of the FEMM Committee, about priorities for the next budget.
🎥 Watch here:
Yet women’s rights organisations remain chronically underfunded.
• Short-term funding cycles.
• Limited access to decision-making.
• Structural barriers to resources.
If we are serious about gender equality, this must change.
But change doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
Progress depends on political will, sustainable funding and strong institutions.
WROs are key actors in EU external action — especially in fragile contexts — bringing local expertise, trust and legitimacy.
These stories also show something else: resilience.
Women and girls. Activists. Women’s rights organisations. Communities.

🌍 #IWD2026: Why investing in women’s rights drives real change — and lasting impact.
What happens when women’s rights organisations have access to funding, resources and support?
Tangible. Inclusive. Transformative. ✊♀️
✅ The good: Calls for transparency, debt relief, and local ownership.
⚠️ The confusion: A strategy dominated with competitiveness and private sector gains can’t credibly claim to fight poverty.
Will the #GlobalEurope instrument clarify priorities—or deepen the mix-up?
🔹Yesterday’s @europarl.europa.eu’s #GlobalGateway vote sends mixed signals.
Partner countries don’t reject EU interests—they reject self-interest dressed as partnership.
