always felt the Kung-fu mod for max payne had some great swarm moments and pulled this off well with the existing mechanics. Never saw any kind of followup from later games.

Didn't work on A:I but have worked on projects /w similar workflows

Oversimplification, but they mostly use realtime lights, reflection probes and light textures. As the probe's area is limited, the cost was manageable. Using actual light sources is key. Used a custom engine with all this in mind.

This game by @bering.bsky.social is having trouble finding it's audience (I reckon it will closer to Xmas) and I think it looks really well made?

Can we help an indie out and get it infront of the right people?
