Look who I finally got to see after years! 🥰 Finally made it over to Ottawa. Uncle Rongo was the one who planted the seed for me to move here someday. A beautiful full circle moment. ❤️

My Uncle Rongo Wetere, will be receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal in Ottawa in March. He founded Te Wananga o Aotearoa in 1994, the first Kaupapa Māori tertiary institute & since moving to Ottawa, he has worked tirelessly to support Indigenous communities and language revitalisation. ❤️

Lol I got this film camera from a vintage market & no amount of scrubbing has removed the cigarette smell, might as well be my mini Time Machine 😂

I have zero idea what happened during film development, but a picture of the Toronto skyline came out like this! Isn’t it magnificent 😍

In ‘North of North,’ a Joyous Celebration of Being Inuk | The Tyee It’s a striking reminder of why locally made TV matters more than ever.

“'North of North' is a reminder of values Canadians want to live up to. DEI that shouldn’t be stripped away, but an instrument for righting historical wrongs.”

Kia ora Eva! I’d would to see some coverage on the Māoriland film festival happening in Ōtaki from March 26 - 30th! They are also bringing a large delegation to Toronto in June for the imagineNATIVE film festival, (where I work) coverage on that in any capacity would be awesome!

I’m SO STOKED to be offered a placement in the University of Auckland’s PhD programme! Even better to be hanging out with my dad (my biggest supporter) when the email came through 🥹 so excited to carve my name next to those of the incredible Māori scholars who paved the way for me.

Taranaki Maunga bill: What creating 'legal personhood' means A bill granting Taranaki Maunga and its associated peaks their new status is expected to pass into law tomorrow.

Things have been so crazy back home, and around the world that I feel this is being over looked, but it’s huge, beautiful and so wonderful for us who whakapapa to Taranaki Maunga 🥹🥹 A beautiful step in restoring our original names, and acknowledging our maunga!
