I see the where will #TeMatatini go next issue is still ongoing. A few thoughts:
This is a mess 10 years in the making since the board decided to schedule who will host and when. Te Tau Ihu has now spent a decade planning (and by local accounts are confident and prepared).
There is a little space, and a doorstep, outside my office building at the ACH. We can see out, but people can't really see in, and in any case, the room looks empty. Last week a young woman was sitting on the step, watching Te Matatini on her phone, and singing her heart out. ❤️❤️❤️ #TeMatatini
Judging by the many FB stories from my mates overnight, there are going to be some very quiet, but uncomfortable bus trips over Mt Messenger or through to Whanganui today. Hehe. It was worth it though e hoa mā #TeMatatini the day after the 6 weeks before 🤣🤣🤣

14 months ago Taumata o Apanui didn't exist. The iwi asked Rob Ruha to pull together a group for Mataatua regionals to help send another team to #TeMatatini he said 'OK, but I don't just make up numbers' a month later they qualified. Now they're one of the 12 best kapa in the land. Jingoes!
