Don't miss this joint event from the early career committees of SFS and ASLO 28 October at 1:00 PM ET (5:00 PM GMT). Make connections with other freshwater scientists and learn about the societies' funding opportunities, research pathways, ongoing diversity initiatives, and upcoming conferences.
super excited to share that my first dissertation chapter is out in WRR!
here, we operationalize the river corridor of a headwater Coastal Plain network into hydrogeomorphic features to characterize hydrologic connectivity across dimensions

Thrilled to share that the study from my dissertation’s first chapter is out in @natwater.nature.com! Nutrient water quality monitoring in the Southeast is disproportionately concentrated in affluent areas, leaving many communities routinely overlooked in data collection. Check it out: rdcu.be/ewiYs

Lately, we're thinking about how the #SAA2025Denver program was called a “two-page blood bath of federal disengagement” by one attendee. Yikes. (@nytimes.com)
A clear river with large rocks and small cascades, surrounded by tropical green plants and trees on a sunny day with only a few clouds.
Somehow managed to have more than an hour exploring this incredible river without any other humans nearby. Plenty of freshwater shrimp, birds, & anoles to keep me company!

Got to nerd out about beautiful coastal Puerto Rican #wetlands yesterday with @carlalopezpr.bsky.social ! Carla is studying #freshwater wetland #carbon emissions & testing how those emissions may change with sea level rise. 💧🧪🌎👩🔬 #2025SFS @globalchangevt.bsky.social

Finding the perfect analogy is hard, writes @bwfund.bsky.social early-career fellow @claudia-lopez.bsky.social, but a well-built analogy can offer connections that help carry your reader though a story and even provide structure and artistry to a narrative. 🧪
