Remembering a great SFS meeting! We had a great time sharing our research at the 2025 meeting of the Society for Freshwater Science. It was a special meeting for us, as it took place in Puerto Rico for the first time.

Spent an exciting week in San Juan, PR at the #2025SFS Conference! I gave a talk on the ecological drought research I am conducting as a #postdoc at SDSU. I left PR feeling really inspired by some awesome #science. Thanks @freshwaterscience.bsky.social!
A special session at SFS-2025 in honor of our doctoral mentor, Dr. Cathy Pringle. She was also recognized as a Fellow of the Society for Freshwater Science.
We had a great time in Puerto Rico sharing memories and reconnecting with past members of the Pringle lab!

What an incredible week it was of freshwater ecology at the #2025SFS conference in San Juan, PR!
Thank you @freshwaterscience.bsky.social
Super fun week in Puerto Rico at #2025SFS. So fun to catch up with colleagues from around the world. Mostly though, I’m just super proud of how all the members of my lab did in presenting their work. Proud supervisor. Plus, I got to see my first manatee!
#eDNA dinner at #sfs2025 #2025sfs is apparently going down tonight at 6pm at the Medalla sports bar near the convention center. Come construct a double helix out of French fries with me!
It’s tomorrow! From 11 to 3:30 pm a day-long session exploring the functional role of biodiversity #2025SFS

Not a bad conference location when you can encounter a manatee just down the road from the convention center #2025SFS
Omg I didn't get a single picture from Day 1 #2025SFS. Presentations galore, lunch with the Education Committee, and so much needed coffee! Time flies when you're having fun!
Congratulations to Alan “Al” Stienman, 2025 Award of Excellence recipient, who shared some useful lessons in the Opening Plenary #2025SFS

Got to nerd out about beautiful coastal Puerto Rican #wetlands yesterday with @carlalopezpr.bsky.social ! Carla is studying #freshwater wetland #carbon emissions & testing how those emissions may change with sea level rise. 💧🧪🌎👩🔬 #2025SFS @globalchangevt.bsky.social

Scrolling through the #2025SFS program grid on my iPad (old school meets slightly less old school?) and stoked for the annual family reunion. Thinking of those that can’t make it this year, we’ll see you next time!
Landed in San Juan this afternoon for #2025SFS. Looking forward to the exciting week ahead with old and new friends!!
