Removal is important and matched by storage that is secure and increases in value.
Here’s how we’re turning the built environment into the Planet’s Sixth Carbon Sink, we Build With Carbon!

The future of housing starts in a forest!
We call this:
From Field and Forest to Front Door.
Nature captures carbon.
We store it in homes.
We create credits for the carbon storage and social impact to reduce the cost of those homes.
Providing low carbon affordable homes for people in housing need.
The future of housing starts in a forest!

Group of around 20 people standing outside a large green industrial building with “CLiCs” signage, under a bright blue sky. The group includes men and women in business and smart-casual attire, arranged in a semi-line and facing the camera, smiling. The setting appears to be a working site, with a roller shutter door, a parked van, and covered materials visible nearby. The scene conveys a professional site visit or seminar gathering at the Centre for Low & Innovative Carbon Solutions (CLiCs), with a relaxed but purposeful atmosphere.
Richard Stanford, CEO of the Forestry Commission, stands indoors delivering a presentation, gesturing toward a large screen displaying slides about landscape, timber, and housing with the heading “We can change.” He is dressed in smart casual attire and appears engaged and mid-explanation. A desk beneath the screen holds a laptop and office materials, reinforcing a workshop or seminar setting. The image captures a moment of discussion focused on forestry, timber use, and low-carbon construction solutions.
Group of around 20 people standing inside the CLiCs workshop during a site tour, surrounded by timber frames, construction materials, and industrial equipment. The space is a large, open warehouse with high ceilings, metal structure, and bright overhead lighting. Attendees are dressed in a mix of business and casual attire, with one person in high-visibility clothing, reflecting the working environment. An Agile Homes banner is visible in the background. The group faces the camera, smiling, capturing a moment of collaboration and engagement within a live low-carbon construction setting.
Craig White, CEO of Agile Homes, stands indoors presenting in front of a large screen displaying the opening slide titled “Building Low-carbon Affordable Home Ecosystems.” He is mid-gesture, speaking and facing the audience, with the slide showing a timber modular home and housing developments. Dressed in casual business attire, he appears engaged and explaining the concept. The setting is a seminar environment, capturing the start of a presentation focused on low-carbon housing, affordability, and innovative delivery models.

@agilehomes.bsky.social we build with carbon.
From Field and Forest to Front Door, we need to build new economic engines for low carbon affordable home ecosystems.

Thank you Michael for the repost & observations.
I posted a longer version of this on Linkedin.
Tarek Salama at California University shared a paper he co-authored.
Posting on socials, does not leave enough space to do this justice.

A landscape infographic comparing two construction approaches: “Factory MMC Model” versus “Agile Distributed Manufacturing Model.” On the left, the Factory MMC model is illustrated with large centralised factories, trucks, and stacked housing units. Text highlights “large fixed capacity investment,” “high factory overheads,” “high utilisation required,” and “single facility, single point of failure.” A red banner labels it “Fixed Factory Capex – High Risk • Inflexible,” with bullet points noting large fixed capacity, high costs, and rigid single-facility production. On the right, the Agile model shows smaller, distributed micro-factories producing homes across multiple sites connected by dotted lines. Text highlights “zero factory capex,” “capex-light flexible capacity,” “adaptive scale-out model,” and “multiple supply partners.” A green banner labels it “Distributed Manufacturing – Low Risk • Flexible,” with bullet points emphasising zero factory capex, flexible manufacturing, and lower operating costs. The overall message contrasts a high-risk, centralised factory model with a low-capex, flexible, distributed manufacturing approach to housing delivery.
Great to speak at UWE on pushing #MMC boundaries
I focused on a simple point:
MMC will not scale on a high Capex model.
@agilehomes.bsky.social we:
Distribute Manufacture
Use Biogenic Materials
Delivery aligns with local demand
A shift from:
Can MMC work?
to
How do we make it work everywhere?”
Low Coal!

It was a pleasure to talk housing innovation with Ellen Grist of the Housing Festival & Lucy Wood of @agilehomes.bsky.social at UWE School of Architecture.
Bristol is an innovation hotspot!
We talked about homes not ‘units’, ending homelessness, community-led housing & Carbon & Social Value Trading.
We recently submitted a planning application for 14 homes & Common House for Halton Senior CoHousing group, but this one is a little different!
We call these homes Tam, & they can move!

We call it Carbon and Social Value Trading.

Thank you!
Acoustics are exceptional. Low VOCs & formaldehyde, improve air quality. Reduction in radio frequency interference, eg WI-FI does not propagate through the external walls, which for some is helpful.
Moisture management, rendered straw walls breathe moisture in sync with the environment.

Carbon & Social Value Trading.
What’s that?
An affordable home has become the oxymoron of our time!
It’s time to think differently about how we deliver properly affordable homes.
At Agile Homes we’ve created a new finance flow we call CSVTs.
