Professor Adam Gordon places the chain of office over Professor Jugdeep Dhesi's head.
Professor Jugdeep Dhesi speaks at a lectern. She wears a silver chain of office.
And that's a wrap on @adamgordon1978.bsky.social's presidency at @gerisoc.bsky.social as he hands the chain of office to @jkdhesi.bsky.social. #BGSconf
Not sure I ask enough about poor appetite in patients who dont present with unexplained weight loss.
From this study we should be asking about this earlier in people than we do.

There two SNAQs which makes things confusing. The SNAQ I referred to is here pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16280441/ but we’ve also found just simply asking if an older person considers their appetite to be poor useful
There’s increasing evidence that poor appetite and worse health is not necessarily weight loss mediated so still important to ask about as potential simple indicator that they may be sliding into ill health
Appetite loss in ageing can be very complex and is very individual

Thank you Esther ☺️

Travelling back from a couple of days at the #bgsconf and so time for a first post. Some highlights for me… hearing about the incredible Griffin Community trust and the benefits of inter-generational befriending at both ends of the life course
