Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary said: "Savings of this magnitude can't be achieved without damaging the organisation - that's the reality. You can't continue to produce quality journalism if you are making cuts of this kind."

BBC to cut almost one in 10 staff in £500m savings The BBC's interim director general says the cuts will require "some big and some difficult choices".

"More brutal job cuts are wrong, damaging and will cause uncertainty and distress for workers at the BBC". - NUJ on BBC plans to cut 2k jobs.
