If there is romance I try to keep it simple since the romance is usually a B plot. BUT I am currently working on a romance and it's going to be a lot more complicated.

I used to feel like M; I always felt like I needed filler scenes and bridge scenes and realized that half the time, the story moved forward fine without them!
In the past I've been an overwriter, but since trying to balance motherhood and a career, I severely underwrite so I can at least get the skeleton of a full plot on the page.
A1: No. To be blunt, readers en masse are kind of dumb and make too many comments that utterly irritate me ๐

A1: Sometimes just starting the next work or taking breaks to work on shorter things.
If I'm really close to finishing a first draft I'll just plow through with a lot of *make this better* notes.
Q2: short answer; sometimes? If I'm really energetic about a project, I'm kind of One-track minded about it until it's done. But I do currently have two projects going in different stages!
Isn't one of the reasons most of us write is to experience things we might never otherwise get to experience?
That retro-punk vibe from the 90s/00s is so nostalgic for me!
White (linens, nightgowns), lavender (scrubs particularly), chambray blue.
I think there have a been a few big novels recently that started as fanfiction. Can't tell you which since none of them have been in genres I typically read.
I guess in series it's sort of expected!
While researching for a hist fic novel, I discovered a town that no longer exists and ended up writing a short story about it! On the flip side, I've also (not for the first time) started a novel based on a short story I've written!
Anything set in England must have at least one conversation over tea. I'm pretty sure that's the law.
Around the cafeteria table is one of the few places my character gets to go so she's there all the time in the first few chapters. The food is not appealing or varies (calorie and nutrient focused), so I only describe it once though.
What do find to be the most useful of writing while plotting?
I do tend to have a notebook dedicated to a project that I'll not down inspired ideas I don't have a place for yet!
It definitely required a lot of editing rewriting. But it did help keep the momentum going! I think I finished the whole 120k in less than 9 months.
#MomsWritersClub Q5:
(This says 6, but it seems I've lost the original Q5!)

#MomsWritersClub Q4:
Have you ever taken something from the journey of one project and used it to spark another?

#MomsWritersClub Q3:
It's pretty notorious that in books and films regular bodily functions get ignored. Do you have any scenes of your characters eating?

#MomsWritersClub Q2: How do you know when you're done with a project, whatever "done" means?
I generally write in chronological order. I did write a book as scenes came to me once, but my comfort zone is going in order
I'm also waiting for some queries! ๐ค๐พ
Stay here hosting from WA. Currently working on a dystopian novel.
#MomsWritersClub Q1:
When you're drafting do you write chronologically or as the scenes come to mind?

Yes. So far I've veered toward sibling relationships.
I feel like I struggle with romantic relationships because they can feel so...lofty? Unrealistic? Or boring.
In my debut I wrote from the perspective of the children. I haven't written a parent perspective yet really. If a character becomes a parent, it's usually to a baby and toward the end of the story.
