Nothing but Whitethroat when I briefly checked in my coffee break 😅
Excellent mate, let's hope for a few more this Spring 👍
Great stuff shippers! 👍
3cy Little Gull with Black-headed Gull & Sandwich Tern at Abbotsbury.
Not the hoped for Bonaparte’s Gull at the Swannery today but a 3cy Little Gull was a nice surprise during my lunch break. Much pinker than the pic implies. No further sign of the Spoonbill. @joestockwell.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
We have an egg!! At 12:56pm today CJ7 laid her first egg on the @careyssecretgarden.bsky.social

Hoopoe feeding in paddock at Waggs Plot, Devon
Marsh Harrier over Dorset patch & after seeing the same bird at Chard Res earlier!!
I was fortunate to refind this Hoopoe at Waggs Plot after bumping into the local farmer who found it yesterday! A nice 10km #PWC2026 Tick! The Marsh Harrier was 1st seen at #ChardRes (thx for text Gary Andrews) & later over my Dorset patch! #DevonBirds @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social #Somersetbirding
Whilst it's great to have lingering Garganey on patch (2 still this morning, 3 on Friday) some variety wouldn't go amiss...
Five drake American wigeon were on the Ogmore Estuary for their second day and showing much better at Portobello Island. A little ringed plover was on the island too. In the flight shot there were only four which were accompanied by a pair of Eurasian wigeon.
Nice to see a local Hoopoe next to the track down to The Kitchen on Soldiers Road. It's feeding in private fields around a small group of Pines, but visible from Soldiers Road with a scope

A Hoopoe was found this afternoon on Hartland Moor, feeding in private field (viewable from Soldiers Road), close to entrance of Hartland Stud, feeding beneath the pine block @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
Just had a report of a possible Pearl-bordered Fritillary at the top of Seacombe Bottom near Worth Matravers; almost certainly a release/escape if correct but if anyone is in the area please have a quick look. @dorsetbutterflies.bsky.social
Both Bony's still present at Lynch Cove. Plus, a Corn Bunting flew over heading North.
Bluethroat still present at Swineham. Was just feeding halfway along path at eastern end then flew into Reed bed area. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
2, yes, 2 Bonaparte's Gulls. 2nd-cal yr, joined by a 3rd-cal yr+ at Lynch Cove this afternoon. Pic is not a true reflection, as the 2 birds spent hardly anytime together. 2nd bird found by Charlie Richards, during increase of Black-headed Gulls since the morning.First multiple occurrence in Dorset.
There are two at Lynch cove now Roger👍
Bonapartes Gull still Lynch cove.
Well done Phil 👍
1st yr Bonaparte’s Gull here in a large field with BHGs now - Briantspuddle, Dorset @birdguides.bsky.social
