BIG BREAKING:

Just spoke with my CDC sources.

They said RFK Jr. has ordered a complete pause on infectious diseases testing, which includes rabies, tuberculosis, mumps, and hantavirus.

RFK Jr. wants to freely move these infectious diseases among the people.

Please spread this message widely.

If only we had an intervention, like I don't know, a vaccine that works!

I agree with the concerns except I do support no chair summaries. The chairs can significantly inject their own biases into the discussion when they haven't even reviewed the grant at length like the assigned reviewers. I think there is merit to that move.

Some shit is about to go down with NIH study sections, friends. Keep your eyes peeled for change that may affect your grant submissions.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

"We have resigned because: We protest the hypocrisy of an NIH leadership that claims to protect academic freedom while censoring grants and staff communication."

The #NIH is the biggest public funder of biomedical and behavioral research in the world. It has always received bipartisan support. Sad.

The pipeline of scientists is cracked at every level now: recent grads can't get jobs/research experience because we're all conservative about hiring in this climate, fewer grad school spots, killing many fellowship pipelines, and now the early career investigators are disproportionately impacted.
