I actually read this all as one line in the email "Campus annual electrical shutdown: the existential threat to the US Rule of Law and democracy and how to counter it". I mean it's inconvenient and puts my lab equipment at risk, but this seemed like an over-reaction.
We’re looking for a new Research Tech! Our research tech is heading to graduate school (very exciting!), which means we’re recruiting someone new to join our team. The position involves hands-on neuroscience research in a collaborative environment.

Cells come in many shapes and sizes, with diverse physiological functions. But how do #organelles and their interaction networks remodel during #differentiation of stem cells into different cell types? Here’s what we discovered about neuronal differentiation: 1/13
This kind of shit gives me white hot rage. Go back to your cave.
Mixed reviews..... My senior student "host" came to join me on their couch. Frankly this did not feel awesome to me, even in the wacky 90s.
Ooh enjoy!!!

We take advantage of the characteristic geometries of dendritic spines--their saddle-like necks and bulbous heads--to eliminate (or at least significantly decrease) the need for the painstaking work of manual image segmentation.

Political parties must shift immediately and dramatically to the left to avoid alienating these frustrated and abandoned young women. Am I doing this right?
A university that signs the “compact” is one that acknowledges its own inability to compete and succeed based talent and merit. It would signal insecurity and mediocrity to current and future students and faculty. Say no. Recruit the best people, protect their freedom and support their hard work.
Despite the mess, we are grateful to be funded, have exciting science happening, and have an opening for a postdoc!
If you are interested in sensory biology and esp in cilia, thermosensation, or interoception, and would like to join an interactive & supportive group - please email.

The New York Times piece today about US science is terrible and wrong—in many ways.
I could write a whole article about this, but as one example:
“To close observers, the original crisis began well before any of this…”
No. I’m a close observer of science, and this is incorrect.
