The answer is yes, in my humble opinion!

I need the cheering up for sure! I’ve never done a quilt like this before but am enjoying it. Have you posted your Drunkard’s Path quilt? I’d love to see it.

Thank you. And yes, I surely need an antidote to the moment by moment volatility of my news feed. I auditioned three lime green sashings with it today and chose one. Hubby will cut all of it on the laser tomorrow. 🌼

I know absolutely nothing about cosplay or the character you’re referencing, but I know high end couture design when I see it and this is freaking MAGNIFICENT! I can see this in a movie for sure; you are crazy talented. I truly admire this and I think it’s gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.

#quiltsky I neglected my chores today or at least half of them instead of choosing to finish assembling my blocks, give them a heavy press, and square them. A nice, fresh, neat stack of blocks is my favorite stage of quilting. I almost hate to make them into a quilt, but I will.

Enjoy your young, trouble-free stomach while you can. Old stomachs are cantankerous and rebel hard if you dare to eat cheese past 3 pm 🧀 But worry not; I rode my young stomach hard. Half a pizza at 2 am with Diet Coke and would go to bed and sleep like a hibernating bear! Those were the days! 🍕

Ha ha! Thank you, and I hope you eat something yummy!

I’ve been surprised to find that I enjoy ruler quilting. It will be hard for me to keep from fill stitching the slices to death. I tend to do that!

Thank you, it’s funny you say that because I was considering quilting the circular parts in an abstract citrus slice design. I might have to have my husband cut an acrylic template for the slices because I’m not confident that I can be consistent over that many blocks. But I’m thinking about it.🍋

Thanks! There is a trick to it. Check out the QCR mini ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful. Makes it way easier!

#quiltsky I’m waiting until all the blocks are sewn together before arranging them but, if my math is correct it will be 70”x78”. For some reason I want to do a lime green or light green border and sashing. We’lll see.

#quiltsky This is what I’ve been working on. The first three rows are sewn into blocks but not pressed or trimmed. Initially I was thinking about interspersing the pieces with black and gray but they just pop out too much. I’m going to eliminate them so I have flexibility about the sashing color.

Been there! I regard them as the quilter’s crucibles! Hang in there.

We are double trouble in that we’re both avid hobbyists who say things like, “you should get that” a lot 🤣. When it came to the Summer’s End collection he told me to get the half yard bundle instead of the fat quarter so I wouldn’t worry about having enough. I told him he needed a bigger 3D printer.

Listen, any husband who wants you to get a new sewing machine is a total keeper!!! I have a friend whose husband is like that. He goes to the dealer on his own and comes home telling her about the new models and has already worked out a trade. 😁

I think so too. I’m already thinking of minky colors for backing. Light lime, melon of some sort, a pale yellow…hard to choose just one.

I told my husband in November I was going to strive not to buy fabric until June. I made it to the end of February. When I go in my fabric closet my first thought is, this is going to be one hell of an estate sale. I couldn’t resist this one. The photos of the fat quarter bundles are tantalizing!

I love her “Garden View” pattern for this collection. I’m just not sure I have the stamina to complete it! I’m also mulling something abstract. I have two quilts ahead of it in my queue so…

I have! They are drool-worthy!

It’s nice to be understood😁. I only have two friends who sew and two others who sincerely admire the art of quilting. My husband is an unwavering enabler who does his best to say things like “that’s pretty”! But here I am fortunate to have a whole circle of kindred spirits! 🩵

#quiltsky I just ordered Fig & Tree’s Summer’s End half yard bundle and am so happy I could pee my pants. Very few people in my life understand this sort of thrill so I’m posting here. No idea what I’m going to make with it but the colors/collection really spoke to me. It will come to me.

To have such beauty spring from such repugnant rot…you are a genius!

I kept this 😃. I really loved it when it was done. I keep a lot of what I make because the pieces remind me of what I learned while making them 😁.

#quiltsky Throwback video. I know Halo thread isn’t supposed to go in the needle but it was so perfect for this fabric that I forced it!
