Fig. 1 (shortened, full legend in paper): Workflow of single-particle tracking photoactivated localization microscopy (sptPALM) analysis. (A) Localization: single molecule spots are cut out of the raw data image stack, fitted with two-dimensional Gaussian functions and the results (most importantly, their coordinates) stored as lists. (B) Tracking: single-molecule positions are grouped to tracks, based on their relative positions in subsequent frames. (C) Mean square displacement (MSD) analysis: the average squared distance the molecules have traveled in certain time intervals (top left) can be plotted in MSD curves (bottom), showing a straight line for free Brownian motion (dark gray), for which the slope is directly proportional to the diffusion coefficient. Other motion types like superdiffusive (red) or subdiffusive (yellow) show different curve shapes (inset: corresponding single-molecule example tracks).

Walking home from work one day, you encounter a funny little man selling cabbages.

"Pathways" he says
"Secret portals to the biology realms"

"How odd" you think. But the cabbages do look delicious, so you buy a few.

Later that night you cut the first one open.

Perspectives on a co-option of a familiar signaling pathway for embryo patterning, where phosphorylation of SCREAM by MPK3/6 triggers different outcomes. But..Symmetric Cell Division is EXCITING and essential for generating a mirror-symmetric Guard Cell pair😘🌱.

By definition, enhancers can activate from a distance. But with increased distance between enhancer and promoter, the activation drops. To study this systematically, we build a synthetic locus: www.cell.com/molecular-ce... 1/12

More details on our recent pre-print:
Alignments of stomata have been described in many species, here are 2 examples: Thym from my kitchen, and Leucadendron from a 1935 paper (Smith 1935 on the orientation of stomata)
What is directing these alignments is unknown 1/12
