I disagree! They work very hard to implement their political project to control and manage disfavoured groups - this is one small part of it. When we read this as lazy, it is a mistake. They are actually relentless.

I really wish that some friendly thousandaire would fund public service announcements teaching people about the most common fallacies. The Just World Fallacy would be at the top of my list.

Thank you for sharing these. I just lost my job at an NFP due to bullying and racial violence (again). I wanted to share some handwritten postcards as farewell notes to the people I cared about there. These poetry gems are short and perfect for that.

Zohran Mamdani on CBS — “Socialist politics can flourish anywhere, because there is only one majority in this country, and that is the working class. It’s time we have a politics that puts them at the heart of what we’re doing, not in the appendix.”

I used mailchimp during the pandemic for that newsletter (also niche) but they’ve also subscription-modelled the hell out of all their offerings. And I agree w MK : if you don’t want to monetise your writing, you shouldn’t have to pay. But who will create this anti-capitalist platform for us 😭

Hhmm ok thanks for explaining. I asked bc I’ve been wanting to return to my early 2000s blog letter on WP, and now want to avoid substack, ghost etc . I don’t want to make money off my writing, just share it, so might still consider WP.

A pamphlet written over a hundred years ago that is still relevant today.

I spoke with Jacobin about how the RBA is a key instrument of the capitalists to keep their boots on our neck, one nation, housing and how the Labor-dominated union movement has been completely absent on housing here:

(around photos of Jeff Bezos and an Amazon employee) Jeff Bezos made $90 billion in profit... because of their hard work.

Amazon's profits went UP 45%, but its taxes went DOWN 87%.

Thanks to Trump's "Big Ugly Bill," Amazon paid just $1.2 billion in taxes (down from $9 billion last year).

Hardworking Americans are struggling, while Republicans hand massive tax breaks to the Epstein class.

Just to give a sense of the insane scale of billions of dollars…MacKenzie Scott got about $38 billion after divorcing Bezos in 2019. She has become the world’s most generous philanthropist, giving away over $19 billion…and she’s currently wealthier than she started.

There are Nine Kinds of Great Organizers. You Don’t Have to Be Them All. Organizers often feel like they have to be a master of all trades. Stephen Smith of the Rural Defenders Union uses the Enneagram to propose nine different approaches to being a good organizer.

"The organizer’s calling is not to do everything ourselves; it is to find everyone we need." convergencemag.com/articles/nin... - An organizer Enneagram - I fit a couple of these.
