Had a very useful trip to Hampstead to record 'Hampstead Heath looking towards Harrow' on the same day and time as Constable did, just 204 years later. I also visited his former house in Well Walk and grave at St.John's.

The front that is just visible in the distance over the roof tops is moving away from us. It brought a stormy shower with some thunder. In front of it was the warm air of summer and behind it, and here now, was the cooler air of #autumn. It arrived between 15:30 and 16:00 on 11th September.

It was Friday evening and the working week had just finished. Ahh. As the clouds were looking particularly active and varied, I drove over to #Flatford for a couple of hours to wind down. When I got there the sun was bright and low, but some high thin cloud drifted across the landscape during the time I shot this film. A herd of young cows grazing on the #meadows came up behind me but were camera shy so headed away again. They did however occupy the place where I was after I had left (cause and effect). The crane flies are very active at this time of year. The big wooden kissing gates have strong springs on them and most people let them shut loudly. Sitting on my tiny chair amongst the nettles and buttercups, listening, writing, there didn't seem to be a huge amount of #birds active but the Merlin Bird app informed me otherwise. In this recording you can hear Goldcrest, Great Crested Grebe, Skylark, Blackcap, Jackdaw, Pheasant, Coot, Greenfinch, Mallard, Song Thrush, Wood Pigeon, Mute Swan, Cuckoo, Chaffinch, Garden Warbler, Chiffchaff, Wren, Canada Goose, Dunnock, Gadwall, Blue Tit, Goldfinch, Magpie, House Martin, Blackbird and Robin.

Cloud Study #03 is on YouTube now. It was recorded Friday evening on the meadows at Flatford in 'Constable Country'.
