The Prawn Nebula, also known as IC 4628, is a large emission nebula located in the constellation Scorpius. Situated about 6,000 light-years from Earth, this nebula spans approximately 250 light-years across, making it a significant region of star formation. It is illuminated by the radiation from hot, young stars embedded within it, which ionizes the surrounding gas and causes it to glow.
