I have a 30-minute skills block which includes daily spelling, vocabulary, morphology, and reading fluency work. I try to keep initial instruction of vocabulary and spelling quick and simple. Ss use mwb for answering. I teach 3 words at a time using consistent routines.

Thank you @bronwynhemsley.bsky.social and team…We now need to a) continue to spread the word to SLT/Ps and parents, b) encourage robust empirical research into GLP/NLA efficacy (ethics might be tricky?). I’m an SSD specialist yet still get more enquiries about GLP/NLA than anything else 🤷🏼‍♀️

How Structured Literacy Will Upend Canadian Education - Macleans.ca Canadian students have struggled to read and write. That stops this year.

“A one-time meeting and a box of materials won’t cut it. [Teachers] need learning opportunities, resources and in-class coaching. And they should not have to spend their own time and money seeking out training.”
