Also, decided to compare the price of some of the kit kits I bought to the prices of some online shops that sell to the US
bruh, a box of 10 wasabi kit kits I bought for around $10 in Tokyo was being sold for almost $45 🙃 who is buying it at that extreme of a markup?

Got home from Japan yesterday, my dad didn't seem to register that I had an entirely new duffel bag with me...
Today he saw all the snacks I brought home and said he was impressed I fit it all into my suitcase lol his mind was blown when I told him I bought a new bag while I was there

Interesting japan observation:
- when I'm paying for things by myself, staff more often talk to me only in japanese, even if I start talking in english.
- when my bro is next to me, they try to speak as much english as they can

🤷 idk why, I'm just as obviously American as he is lol

Something interesting I didn't expect while visiting Japan: they seem to really like French toast. Every place we've looked at eating has French toast on their menu

Today's awkward tourist moment:
-went to an Italian food place bwcause its close to our hotel, the server sat us at a community table with 2 other Americans, and 2 local folks who were on a date...

I felt bad for the couple that had to sit with four tourists

2) If there is a fence, you should not hop it, regardless of how beautiful you think a place is. This is even more true if the the fence has "No Trespassing" signs on it... the fence is there to keep you out, and you can get citations for tresspassing

Things that should not have to be explained to full grown adults, but somehow here we are:

1) If a place has signs that says "closed at [time]" and you stay over an hour past that despite staff telling you many times its time to leave, you're being an asshole...

Recently got passed up for a leadership position at my day job (again) and now fb keeps showing me reels of "signs its time to quit your job" and "signs youre workplace is toxic"

the fb algorithm can be unhinged at times, but when you need some outside advice and perspective, it steps up lol

Today's episode: tightening two screws on a doorknob. She insisted I ask for help because it would be too much for me...

Why is getting longer gameplay videos off of a steam deck so difficult?
Its so unnecessary how many steps there are... For how many people like to capture gameplay and upload videos to various social media platforms, you would think that Valve would have wanted to make it easier

Thinking of leaving the orchestra I've been with for over 10 years and finding a new one.
Without getting too much into the details, we have too many bassoonists and the director tends to be kinda rude to people. She also has stopped including me in the email chain, which tells me its time to leave

Since I dont eat meat, B12 is one vitamin I never really get enough of. Most days this number sits between 0% and 30%
I started taking a B12 supplement a couple of days ago, but didnt add it to my food tracker until today.
Over 20,000% seems a bit excessive lol

For comparison, I live in SoCal and make about $45K a year before taxes... which is too much for low income housing and not enough for anything else.
So if someone really can live on less then $25K before taxes in Japan, I'll be impressed.

Saw this bassoon audition for an orchestra in Japan and thought it would be a cool opportunity... then I saw the pay 🙃
I know things like rent are less expensive in Japan, but can someone really survive on less then $25K a year?
