We want bread & roses, too! It's not just about getting paid enough to survive. We in the working class deserve the dignity of knowing that our souls won't starve in favor of only feeding the body enough to get back to labor. We are more than the size of our work station.

Oh I love The Universal Friend! They don't get enough public recognition.

Thank you. I really enjoyed writing it! The main character was also the main in my story "Coyote Visits" for The Orange and Bee & I wanted to explore what the aftermath might have been.

I've been writing a lot of stories set from the 1860s-1960s. So, war is hovering in everyone's mind. One of my favorite shorts I'm trying to find a home for is about a Choctaw man who gets his draft letter while he's part of the Occupy Alcatraz movement.

I think the only thing I reference in The Ballad of a Muscogee Trapper is licorice candy. 😅 For Cold Blood City, there's Cheez Whiz, Cracker Jack, candy buttons, & Jiffy Pop!

In my sapphic horror, MARYNEAL 1962, Delah has a deep connection with music. Several poignant events happen around certain songs. Since it is set in the early 60s, I had a lot of fun researching what would have been popular & available to her at the time.

I'm drawn to them or veteran MCs but I like it to be couched in something else like a blending of genres or an enriching character arc. I also like the ones that take a different approach. What's happening in a small church on the outskirts instead of the front lines?

I didn't understand most of that sentence. I understood "start hiring trans women" and I think that counts!
(And also I feel oldmaxxing now.)

I like settings in a real place, be it gas station, school gyms, or woods. So far I have stories in:
Luckenbach
Maryneal
Uncertain
Dallas
Alcatraz
Tishomingo
Palo Pinto

I want to write a something set in the orphanage where my grandmother lived but the right story hasn't come yet.

This is such filth. It's exactly why SAGAFTRA went on strike. No artist should have to be forced with this reality of their passing.

Two orange cats. A boy and a girl. She screams. He is stoic. Their mother was a Tortie.

Which orange cat yells at me in the shower?
The answer may shock you!

Terse and taut and full of stark poetry. - M.R. Carey author of Girl With All the Gifts

A trapper turned outlaw seeks revenge on the men who turned him wicked & murdered the woman he loved. THE BALLAD OF A MUSCOGEE TRAPPER is a classic bloody western with indigenous rep.

Did I pull a Brandon Sanderson & decide to publish a SECOND story around the same time I'll be announcing pre-orders for Cold Blood City?

... Yes. THIS pre-order will be available by the weekend so keep your eyes open!

Sneaky look at the cover ⏬⏬⏬

Not even a roast beef. Roast beef*salad* so it's basically tuna salad but with floppy meat.

But yes, I love how deranged the food was. I blame all the lead in the water.

Me shoving my arm under a strangers bed so I can pet a black cat who wants to be pet but doesn't want to move

Just another average day job.

There is a very shy cat under this bed and she purrs when I pet her. Except she won't come out from under the bed, so we just stay like this for half an hour.

For some of my characters in my current WIP, their last meal is a roast beef salad sandwich, tomato aspic, and an ambrosia salad. Wash it down with a Schlitz, and they're in for a good bad time.

Cold Blood City #WIPSnips

His mother, forced to walk through the snow, the soles of her feet stayed behind while the rest of her, wrapped in poisoned blankets, marched on... It made sense that they were too frightened to leave & held living funerals for their children who vanished into big cities.
