I think Chicken George was a character in Alex Haley's Roots.
I’ve been foraging for what, ten years or so… and this is the first time I have ever found Calocybe gambosa - St. George’s Mushroom. I’ve looked for them for years. I was very pleased and will remember where I found them for next year. Tasty! #FungiFriends

Bluebell rust,Uromyces muscari on native bluebells on Fishchowters lane ,Totnes this morning. Considering how many bluebells there are the rust is fairly rare which says something about plant resistance.

Good news for English Mycologists. The Bank's decision to include wildlife on UK banknotes has revealed that the fungus
Calocybe gambosa will be on the £5 pound note. The common name of course is St. Georges mushroom so Churchill will be replaced with something equally patriotic.
Don't forget the fungi.
Happy birthday ,I'm still hoping that you'll review A Vanishing Kind about John Wamsley.
First DFG foray of 26 tomorrow at Hackney Marshes so I'm hoping to see Bog beacons.
When my car had a puncture ( pothole) a couple of years ago I left it briefly in the Totnes Fire Brigade car park. Lo and behold I saw St George's mushroom in a bit of old lawn there. It was a Spring bank holiday Monday but I forget which one.
Slime mold, Trichia crateriformis.
This shot may not win any of them fancy #macrophotography awards, but ... Trichia crateriformis.

There used to be a frog on a bike in Totnes but it's recently been replaced with Winnie the Pooh and Eyore.
Perhaps Borsetshire has its own scone rules.

It's still my farm and if I want to keep a few Aberdeen Angus cattle then I will. Think yourselves lucky that you got most of it.
