aw love this and I can relate to a lot- I talk too much but need to make sure everyone can participate and feel heard and yes I am super sensitive to negative feedback and perceived failure but I am working on that. Perfectionism breeds unsustainable expectations and anxiety for me!

Sounds amazing though!
this got a lot more interest over on linked in, and have now volunteered myself to set up a user centred learning design community practice. let me know if you’re interested! ✨
really recommend working with Sian! ✨
Ooh thank you that would be great!
I’m looking to learn more about the cross over between service design and learning design. we’re looking at the skills we need in our team as a lot of our work is designing for learning outcomes for delivering our programmes and services.
it’s wild that a public figure can freely spread misinformation about breastfeeding beyond 6 months, on national TV without any challenge by the presenters. to say it is ‘selfish’ ‘an addiction’ and ‘harms attachment’ is nonsense but also deeply sad. breastfeeding a 3 year old is normal!
Love this place so much
my eyes have been so itchy and sore last 2 days I had to take antihistamine 😭
I’m starting a new job today as early years design lead at BookTrust. after an 18 month career break being with my son I have become very passionate about early years development so I am looking forward to getting started. ✨
the last quote from @priyanca.bsky.social’s talk.

had a great day at #ResearchByTheSea today, really interesting mix of talks, from birds, everyday resistance to holistic accessibility. it’s given me lots to think about and lots of inspiration. we can’t be limited by narrow scopes as people cannot simply ‘descope their lives.’
is anyone going to the research by the sea conference in brighton next week? I am going!
It’s not selfish at all. Mental health is connected to our whole physical health, we need to recover. Hope you feel better.
Is there anything on birth and postnatal support?
it’s not good to see it is. I think a flower shop does sound like a great idea though!
this looks like a great event, I’ve signed up.
I am wondering what the impact is for people with ADHD who may be seeking constant dopamine.
yes definitely, I did some work at Citizens Advice few years ago on ways to support people to apply for PIP. the process is very broken and confusing, lots of appeals end up successful as well. if you 'speed' that up you will increase failure demand massively i think.
If prototypes fail it’s not a bad thing, but why did they fail? where is the learning? publicly funded test and learn programmes should have to share learning, publish it but make it accessible and findable. a lot of smaller orgs and charities would benefit. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
I think for orgs with a CEO and usual decision making process that isn’t bottom up collaborative then yes they should just do it now. I do think it’s clear on many levels. Usually I would say ask users of a community but not in this case.
I have moved to Worthing in Sussex, I think 1 day a week in London would be my preference but I have a young son. My husband wfh 4 days makes a big difference to family life. it’s not cheapest place to live but much more affordable than London. my parents are closer which is a big help.
Walking along a small ridge on Cissbury Ring, greg skies and fields on the horizon
yesterday in London and today exploring the South Downs a couple of miles from our new house carrying my son on my back while he spots dogs.
had an interesting day at #ukgc25 and was nice to meet some new people including a few who had previously work in arts + culture like I did back in the day. my favourite session was about libraries - how we can protect them and hearing about sustainable alternative models for their future.
also love that there is a crèche, though we don’t need it as my son is staying at home with dad as it’s a weekend.
after 18 months out of (paid) work on my parenting career break I am quite out of the loop so I’m looking forward #UKGC25 on Saturday. who else is going?
I am going!
this is such sad news, so shocking to read this. sending love to all her friends and family. I followed her for years and never met her but learnt so much.
Good for Anne! I got laid off during maternity leave in July, extra time with my son and we’re moving to live by the sea this week. I am returning to work soon but feel glad to have not returned to my old job despite all the uncertainty. I was ready for a change.
If you run an indie or community web service of some kind and are worried about the incoming Online Safety compliance duties, we’ve put together a @carefultrouble.bsky.social mailing list and been in touch with Ofcom to see if they’ll do some engagement buttondown.com/indie-and-co...
