Last night's film was 'Dogora' from 1964. A bizarre kaiju film where the giant jellyfish type creatures are almost a subplot to a diamond heist story. The monster effects were quite good, though, and I suspect a partial influence on the creature from 'Nope'.

Thanks for posting this! I'm loving the spiraling structure of the book and I can't imagine it would be coherent without this kind of planning. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the last parts of the plot before we reach the end of the narrative.

I love this! I had an English teacher in HS that I adored and she was also an absolutely brutal grader. We spent a lot of time on existentialism and absurdism my senior year, which was 100% her doing.

I was just thinking about that - it's on so many high school reading lists! (Or at least it was when I was in high school back at the turn of the century.) I just can't imagine teaching this chapter to a bunch of 16 year olds.
