That's the great thing about chocolate. Very forgiving. Even vegan chocolate brownies taste π

Totally with you on that one*

Absolutely nailed why we get what we deserve!
Thanks for the varied coverage on this one and the reminder that you don't *have* to invest your allowance. As a sore ex-holder in #EBOX, I'm wary of all these managements that seem to fold when the going gets tough - not sure if it was completely different to #BBOX but worth knowing...
Here in Happy Valley EVERY tree is presumed to have a TPO on it.
Yes, we're still waiting for those in the North of England. No-one here gives a π© about shaving 20 minutes off visiting The Smoke compared to having a reliable last train home from either Leeds or Manchester. And yes, I know HS2 is all about capacity etc...
Ditto. Just sitting on cash and willing to wait it out until the grifting charlatans have been booted out π€

Seems to be a fairly accurate summary of things so far. So much lost soft (and hard) power...
If, like me, you really can't abide the mango Mussolini, then join me in saluting @chadbourn.bsky.social who takes one for the team. Every speech. Every time. So you don't have to πππ
Welcome and yes, you've pretty much summed it up.
Well, 10 Antipodean weeks later with minimal tending, and considering the mango man-child's antics this qtr, I'm somewhat relieved to only be down 2.9% in 2026.Q1. Private debt/equity taken a knock. Got my eye on adding to #AEWU and #INPP. Exited 10k of #HVPE in March to bring holdings down to 44
I too am baffled why, after ignoring it for a decade it seems, Miliband hasn't been banging on incessantly for the past month on the energy security aspects of our own oil as we transition to even more renewables. It's like politics 101 for me.
What's more concerning for us ex-allies is that the US voters already knew this, even if sub-consciously. And this speaks more to what the US has become than the presence of one grifting family running the current π© show. I guess it's Darwinian (lack of) evolution playing out in plain sight.
Ouch π€
Golden rule for me of IT investing to avoid buying at a big premium to NAV.
Fascinating insights into the private credit world with @htviolaheir.bsky.social asking questions on all our behalfs. I am not expecting our holdings in the likes of #MGCI #RECI and #POLN to be as affected as the worst-case scenarios...
Transferred another 20k cash from HL income ISA to the AJ Bell account which is timely after HL's recent outage. Ultimately transferring the whole ISA pf due to charges. Added Β£7.5k of #CSN to bring it to a more useful 15k. Despite being down ~3% YTD, things could be worse...(#GDWN ex-holding!)
Just back from winter Oz trip and after a 15hr kip, fully refreshed. Good job as it seems I'll be chopping logs for the wood burners the rest of the year (Russia showed logs are priced to gas).
Portfolios surprisingly resilient so far - (private) equity main loser YTD.

Is he referring to Iran or ICE? π€
Surely they're not so illiquid that they can't be sold over multi-years closer to NAV?
Be interesting to see how #CHRY (we have a tiny holding) fares in comparison as they seem to be happy to consider a wind-down IIRC.
I just think these managers are not acting in shareholders' best interests.
Just caught up with this #AUGM news Peter. Ex-holder but IMO either the board is
a) too lazy to effect an orderly wind down as assets are sold OR
b) they are potentially as inept as the likes of #CSH and don't trust their own NAV marking
Another nail in the coffin of IT integrity!
100% agree!
Just visited Australia 4 1st time. Wine tasting in Hunter Valley, host blamed lack of Koalas on immigrants needing housing. They never stop.
My feed is a majority US news/opinion alongside the finance. When I keep reading
"This is not who we really are" π
my head keeps thinking -
"Let's see who you really are at the ballot box"
when all will be revealed. I remain sceptical until then...
Keep on going. My CAGR over a decade only works out ~6!
Trimmed 18k off #BRWM in my SIPP to bring it back to 30k yesterday evening, Oz time!
G'day π¦π·οΈ
Thanks for picking up the improvement baton Henryπ
Since I mainly invest in trusts I prefer more macro/thematic content. e.g. commodities may be a good inflation hedge and one way to gain exposure could be #BRWM for miners or xxx ETF
Wow! Just need do some #DGI9 digging now....
